THE third round of the FA Cup must be the toughest day for punters so it was good to see plenty of winners on the site.
I concentrated mainly on the Scottish games and with so many surprises down south that was a good shout.
It was satisfying to make a Saturday profit thanks to my Super Single double on St Mirren and Peterhead not to lose and my over 2.5 goals treble on games at Ayr, Raith and Stenhousemuir.
Scott Allot had fewer games to look at than usual and landed two winners out of two – a 16-5 treble and 47-20 double. Check out his La Liga and French Cup tips today.
Greg Browning, Scott Allot, Desmond and Jordan all posted winners as did plenty of others so it wasn't a bad day despite the likes of Leicester,Chelsea, Bournemouth, Stoke, Aston Villa, Cardiff and QPR failing to beat lower-league opposition.
Biggest shock of all though could have been Dundee United's 6-1 hammering at an off-form Falkirk.
On Sunday there are four more FA Cup ties to consider including Spurs v Wimbledon and Nottm Forest v Arsenal and remember to check team news although we know the Gunners will be seriously weakened ahead of their Carabao Cup semi-final.
On the continent there are games in Spain and Portugal to look at and for now I'm on a La Liga treble.
Start with Real Sociedad not to lose at Leganes in the early game. Leganes haven't scored in five of their last six league games while Sociedad ended a poor spell by beating Sevilla before the break. They can win here but certainly shouldn't lose.
Add Villarreal at home to Deportivo. Villarreal are edging closer to the top four after ending 2017 with wins against Celta Vigo and Sevilla while Depor have lost three of their last four by more than two and sit in the drop zone.
Villarreal will be without China-bound top scorer Cedric Bakambu so will be relying heavily on Carlos Bacca to grab goals but the Colombian is in decent form.
Finish with Celta v Real Madrid with most observers fancying both to score. Celta have a major weapon in the shape of Iago Aspas who hit five goals in his last four games of 2017.
Real are likely to bring in Gareth Bale to play with Cristiano Ronaldo with Karim Benzema injured. Celta v Real games have been full of goals recently with 18 in four in Vigo with six out of seven going over 2.5 goals.
Unfortunately the first treble was beaten by Sociedad going down 1-0 in the early game. Hopefully most people missed it or didn't fancy Sociedad so I'm adding another for 1pt – the same two as I had before plus Barcelona -2 at home to Levante which is a little risky but has come up in five of the last six meetings at the Nou Camp with Barca scoring 4+ in five of those.

Hopefully I’ve found a bit of value in some cup games today, 3 sides who are odds against. However I reckon the prices are a tad generous considering the differences in leagues and or form. First up is West Ham away to Shrewsbury. Theres no doubting the hammers have turned a corner under Moyes and although it’s certain they will rest some players, if they approach this properly they should win. Next up is the French up and Metz who are away to dunkerque. Metz have been poor for most of the season but got their act together just before the winter break and recorded fine wins over Montpellier and Strasbourg, 2 sides who were in decent form themselves. Dunkerque have lost 3 out their last 4 home games, and I fancy the top flight team to progress. Lastly we have an all top flight clash between Strasbourg and Dijon. Newly promoted Strasbourg have been in fine form at home this season losing only 1 of their last 8 matches ( a cup game against PSG) while Dijon have been poor away from home losing their last 4 and only winning 1 out of their last 9. Obviously team news will play a part today but I think it’s a treble worth a point.

9 changes and a change in formation to 442 for Leeds today away at Newport. First time weve ever played there. We played them in the carabao cup in august which was meant to be played at Rodney parade however Newport asked for it to be played at elland road.
That game ended 5-1 to leeds after a being given a scare with a Newport goal.
Different team today than back in august, with alot of fringe players hoping to impress. Only players to keep their places from the game against Forest are Phillips and Beradi, however the latter is playing CB today with Borthwick-Jackson coming into LB. Anita RB and the academy player Shaugnessey in CB.
Looks like Phillips in the centre of mid with the Polish Klich who has yet to impress, weird situation with him, not even been in alot of our matchday squads, and has since tweeted alot of dissapointed memes. Cibicki on the left with Sacko on the right, Cibicki looks decent, especially with crossing and set peices, and Sacko was good last season however his final product sometimes lacked.
Big men Grot and Lasogga up top, Grot was booed last time out by some of our own fans, not really had a chance to impress yet, this i think is his first start and im still not sure on Lasogga, for someone his size he doesnt really seem to have much of a physical presence.
Only players from the first team on the bench are cooper CB and our best player by fair, Saiz. Rest of the bench are academy players.
We got a new set peice coach in this season and weve definetely improved on corners and other set peices, i can see us trying to use the presence of Grot and hopefully Lasogga to cause their defense problems.

We were a disgrace but the owners simply won’t address the issue of no creativity in the middle of No Legs Noble or Lanzini are missing

Inplay cards have brought me plenty of profit this weekend, actually of thinking of giving up accas etc and solely focusing on this alone.
Only problem is can’t post pre match, I could give thoughts on what games should bring cards inplay but sometimes you need to wait until how a game is being played out to judge.
For example last night Sevilla v Betis, rivals, high paced game, cards were always on the menu. Then this afternoon, not a dirty game at Newport but a lower league team drawing 1-1, cards were going to come late on but if Leeds were running away with it then there wouldn’t have been.
Game I’m focusing on right now is Celta v Madrid, if its close going into final 15 then expect cards.
