THE scoreline says otherwise but Liverpool progressed to a Champions League Final against Real Madrid without too much of a sweat.
It ended 7-6 on aggregate but Roma's fourth came with virtually the last kick of the ball and there was never any danger to Jurgen Klopp's men.
My only bet was both to score at Roma and Dumbarton not to lose at Arbroath and that landed at 7-5.
On Thursday it's all about the Europa League and I've posted a separate preview on the semi-finals between Atletico Madrid v Arsenal and Red Bull Salzburg v Marseille and picked out another double.
Well done to all the winners on Wednesday including maccathered with his goals bets at Roma – final predictions will be interesting and I've already seeing a 5-4 Liverpool tip on the site. Real are odds-on favourites to pick up the trophy but best bets could be over 2.5 or over 3.5 match goals.
The latest £10 to £1000 challenge on Twitter is on to bet No.3 after voters backed over 2.5 goals at Roma. Next one will be a Thursday/Friday combo.
Remember to check out welovebetting for their latest tips and betting blogs.

Atletico to win/under 4.5 mgs @ evens skybet
Only lost 2 games at home this season, haven’t conceded at home since mid January, past 12 months only two of Ateltico’s home games have seen four or more goals and in European competition Atletico have only lost 3 times at home since Diego Simeone took over in 2011. Lokks a cracking bet to me. Good Luck.
Like this one Sean, was actually thinking the same but wasn’t sure where I would get a price (and don’t have sky account). Just checked bet365 bet builder has same odds, only problem with bet builder is can’t double it with anything outside atletico game, and I fancy salzburg v Marseille btts at 8-13, double pays 9-4. Good luck with above and good luck all with a bet on today ?

great tipping on the game Macca … thanks!
Your welcome wc
Your side conceding 6 over two legs against Roma….defence isn’t good enough :-p
In the league v the rest of the top 6 you’ve conceded 5 at City, 4 at Spurs, 3 at Arsenal, 2 at United….how many at Chelsea do you think?
Congrats on getting to the final, may the best team win. :-)
They conceded 6 playing thrilling football and both legs were great to watch.
Klopp’s mentality is if you score we’ll score more. Should be a brilliant final.
That’s also Real’s mentality though. And away from anfield against better opposition generally speaking they haven’t scored more than the opposition. 5-0 City, 4-1 Spurs, 3-3 Arsenal, 2-1 Man Utd.
If Man City hadn’t had their second goal wrongly disallowed the tie could have been a lot different so let’s not forget that when calling Real Madrid lucky. If Liverpool had the route Real have had to the final I strongly believe they wouldn’t be here.
What and Real Madrids is,they have conceded plenty,i think if you go back a delve a little further you will find Liverpool’s defence has been tight in the champions league, also they have scored the most goals, you can’t take last nights goals conceded as gospel because they knew they had the game won and took the eye off the ball and why not???I tell you what davisam i will nail you on this final i tell you.Over 90% strike rate in this comp alone.best of luck Hala Madrid.
Not taking anything away from Liverpool, I like them and I really like Klopp and it’s a great achievement but let’s not forget the group they were in, scored 14 goals in two games against Maribor and Spartak, and the easy run they’ve had to the final. You can’t argue with that.
Lovren, Karius and TA-A are there to be exploited, against some of the world’s best strikers they will be found out. TA-A is a brilliant prospect and a great attacking talent but we saw what happened to him against United, Mourinho exploited the weakness between him and Lovren. Marcelo and Ronaldo will gunning for them.
Hala
Yes lets talk Marcelo, where is Salah going to be when Marcelo goes forward??Ronaldo has a poor record v Liverpool,i remember no one gave us a chance against them and we beat them 4-0 at home and 1 nil away,Madrid are Madrid though but for me they are not what they were as we see from their league position.Remember Liverpool beat Dortmund,Manchester united,Villareal to reach a Uefa cup final, the way Liverpool play and the way Madrid play they are there for the taking imo, having watched Bayern whom i consider a lot weaker than us it gives me even more confidence that an attacking three that has 30 goals between them in this comp can do some damage against Madrid,of course Madrid have to be respected for past achievements in this competition and their ability to win games when under the cosh, but i stick by my opinion of a Liverpool win in the final.best of luck.
Hopefully Salah will be on the end of another “to nil” defeat like he was twice when he faced Real with Roma 0-2, 2-0.
Wishful thinking though, completely agree Salah will cause them all kinds of problems on that side.
In as much as I really desire Liverpool FC to win the CL, and definitely don’t want Real to win it, I must be honest from my observations it is going to be very difficult for Liverpool to beat this extremely fortunate Real Madrid side. My humble opinion is based on 1 main point, to wit, Experience of players.
Tactically there is not much that distinguishes both teams. They are very similar in their philosophy. Both Klopp and Zidane enjoying attacking football although using different approaches. While Klopp is for more direct counter attacking play, Zidane prefers a more constructive, ball conservation and possession based attacking.
Defensively both teams have shown quite similar characteristic lapses, difficulties to deal with a certain amount of pressure, Marcelo though quite an asset moving forward, has proven to be a huge calamity for Real defensively. On the other end Lovren has been very nervy and panicked in front of far less dangerous attackers than CR7.
Therefore to my mind what will make the difference is the character of the players and their experience at the level and how they react under pressure. That is where I think the experience of players like Kross, Modric, CR7, Ramos, Carine, Benzema, etc
…that have been there, done that again and again will come into play.
Another issue that worries me, I noted Liverpool puts slot of intensity in the opening 60minutes of the game and have a lot of difficulties to end the last 30 minutes. They need to work at that against a team like Real who can be patient enough to wait the right time to attack.
Then I pray that the luck and fortune that has been with Real all these while eludes them at least that evening. In Klopp we Trust. YNWA
Klopp’s due a win in a final and a well rested eleven should be a stern test for Madrid,we head to Chelsea on sunday where i fully expect Liverpool to win that game,if they do that then the players can fully focus on Madrid.it also looks like Lallana and Can will be back for the final.
Can will definitely be an added value in terms of strength and energy. I know it will not be the case, but I would prefer an experienced Nat Clyne than Alex Arnold, he is an excellent player but here the slightest moment of inattention will be punished, the slightest switching off… Then again managing the game especially the last 30 minutes will be key. That’s where I think Can will help a lot. If they lead he can calm everyone down and try to organize play at midfield by trying to keep possession rather than giving away the ball cheaply.
Liverpool get joy in the champions league (and epl) playing against teams with attacking full backs. Porto, Man City and Roma’s full backs usually spend more time in the opposition half than their own and this is where Liverpool will exploit real as they don’t come much more attacking than carvajal and Marcelo. Games I’ve seen Liverpool struggle in this season are home and away to Newcastle everton and Man Utd (4 goals across 6 games) No surprise that these sides have full backs who’s main focus is defending rather than getting forward. Both Liverpool and real Madrid’s strength lies in attack so I think it’s fair to say it should be an open entertaining game
Should be a good final, two rubbish keepers and two brilliant attacking teams .4-3 Madrid should be a decent price.
Hala Madrid lol
a goal-fest for a CL final would be quality to be fair.. I hope both teams bag a few each

After last night’s success in the Southern Premier play-offs, I’m staying down south and tackling the Isthmian League playoffs in similar fashion. Much like Slough v Kettering (which lived up to expectations) yesterday, Hendon v Folkestone looks the potential cracker tonight.
Folkestone were a club staving off relegation last season, but their free-flowing attacking football has brought them within touching distance of exceeding the club’s highest position in the football pyramid since it was formed. They finished the season as the third highest scorers in the league, bettered only by the money of Billericay and the prolific yet leaky Staines Town. Notably, though, their 71 goals conceded means they have the worst defensive record of the Top 5 by some margin.
Enter Hendon. They got the benefit of a home semi-final after some late drama on the final day and boast a brilliant home record. In 25 home games in all competitions dating back to September, they notched in 23 of them, with just three defeats in that time. They aren’t the tightest at the back, however, with just 7/25 clean sheets across those games.
Folkestone, meanwhile, have scored in their last 19 consecutive away games, scoring 2+ in 14 of their last 16 away, too. In fact, their away games in the league averaged 4 goals per game, with 49 scored and 43 conceded.
As with last night, these being one-legged affairs means it only takes 1 goal to open things up. With both meetings finishing 3-2 and 3-3 this season, and BTTS landing in each meeting in the last two seasons, I fancy a cracking playoff tie here.
Adding Dulwich to do a similar job to Kings Lynn. They’re the best side on paper outside of Billericay in this division and they have fared well against Leiston in recent times. Rarely draw a blank on home soil, either.

Racing Club -1 h/c @ 4/6 with betfair
Its the Copa Libatadores ( South American equivalent of the European champions league ). Racing Club of Argentina had a game called off over the weekend over a players strike ( wages ) so they’re fresher, but they play with home advantage and should wrap up the group stage win in style because their opposition ( Universidad De Chile ) are just god damn awful. UDC have shed their manager because of domestic results and the Copa Libertadores results have made them look like a third rate North Ferriby !! They’re conceding on average 5 goals a game in their last 3 and their away form is enough to make even the most die-hard of UCD fans hide their faces in shame.
We all know Argentine football is just that more organised than Chile’s, and with Racing Club priced at just 1/5 with betfair for the win, there seems no value in it. I’ve decided to go with the -1 h/c because of value.
I’ve had a little bit of a roll this past few days and have picked up 3 winners on the bounce, all small stakes nothing to shout about, and nothing really that hasn’t already been tipped on here.
Liverpool btts, Molde win, Athletico Madrid to qualify ( the win to nil looked nailed on before a ball was kicked but I played it safe ).
Best of luck folks.
