WE'RE finally here and the new Scottish and English league seasons kick off with two interesting games.
Dunfermline v Dundee and Luton v Middlesbrough are where the cameras are heading and they've been previewed by Grant and Kevin respectively. Let's hope for an entertaining start.
They're not easy games to call but hopefully get goals in both. Luton were unbeaten in League One last season so this won't be easy for Jonathan Woodgate's visitors who will have one eye on a return to the Premier League.
Dundee, also under a new rookie boss in James McPake, won their Betfred Cup group without conceding and will be desperate to make a winning start in their bid to return to the top flight.
Dunfermline also qualified for the last 15 of the Betfred Cup and sides rarely get it easy at East End Park. Both have scored in six of the last eight meetings between the sides.

Last night my Top Treble won at 2-1 thanks to Malmo, Linfield and BTTS at Vitorul but the Super Single was a loser as Rangers failed to score at Progres despite creating a bundle of chances.
Well done to all the winners including HullShaker and Scott with another nice Member's Bet of the Day success at 11-10.

Nice shout sir!
Well done on the treble mr f.
Many thanks for last night mr f. I am on your rangers and celtic double.
I think luton town could carry on last seasons momentum tonight in the curtain raiser. I will be on them for a small bet only.
Stevenage away at salford in the early ko tomorrow look good value. Salford only had 3 pre season games i think they could be lacking in fitness. Stevenage have made several decent signings and are being overlooked imo.
Cracking stuff on the treble Mr F!
It was all about Europa corners for me last night with both Nap and Nb landing – the Uruguayan U22’s left their shooting boots off until too late however with a final score of 0-2 in the late pick.
Will put up today’s Nap now and back it up with reasoning later on – a rare visit to Bolivia’s 2nd tier:
INDEPENDIENTE PETROLERO VS. REAL TOMAYAPO (8.30pm):
Over 3.5 goals
(10/11, bet365) Nap
Best of luck.
Great shout on the corners Hull. Seems like this is where the real value is if you know where to look in the Europa League Qualifiers👍
Cheers Hunter – good value if you get it right but as Jordan used to say, corners can be a nightmare to bet on consistently (that’s Jordan from the site not the glamour model 😂)
Well done Mr F, Hull, Scott, Micky, DC and any others with winners yesterday.
It was good to see Rangers and Aberdeen progress to the next stage in the Europa league.
I still wasn’t feeling myself last night but I did manage to get along to the Aberdeen v Chikhura game and I’m glad I made the effort now.
I’ve been very critical of Sam Cosgrove as Aberdeen have been too predictable with their play when he starts (hoof ball to the big target) but last night was totally different and it only took a small tweak to the system. New signing Ojo just sat anchoring the midfield which allowed Ferguson to absolutely run the show, he was everywhere, and had 3 fantastic assists. Him and Gallagher were on the front foot from the off, pressing high up the park. Allowed Hedges and mcginn to play more off of Cosgrove in the 4-3-3 rather than the 4-2-3-1 and it really helped the big man as he went on to score 3 cracking goals. Hedges looks a class act as he never wastes a ball, really clever footballer and if that’s only Greg Leigh half fit then I can’t wait to see him fully fit. It’s obviously really early in the season but all of the Aberdeen signings look to have some real quality and they still have another new signing Bryson from Derby to return from injury. The loanee from Atalanta Gallagher also looks to have added some real quality to the ranks.
The transfer window hasn’t closed yet but they are very light in defence (injuries) but if they can get a quality defender added before the window then it looks as if they’ll have a solid squad for the season ahead.
Irrespective of the opposition last night, it was a good performance all round and it will be interesting to see how they fair against a physical team like Hearts on Sunday. This isn’t something I find myself saying often, but I wouldn’t put anyone off backing Aberdeen to start their league campaign off with a win at evens.
Sam Cosgrove’s stats Are quite incredible
I think he scored just 2 goals in 40 career games prior to the tail end of last year (2018) and now has 25 goals in his last 32 games
Some turnaround
He’s only 22 and should continue to get better. Some size of a lad
He’s been brilliant at Aberdeen. Problem for them now is keeping hold of him as there is some interest.
I’ve already spoken to a couple of people about Aberdeen on Sunday.
The price is good considering how bad Hearts have been.
Can’t argue with any of that Hunter. Was our best performance in a long time. We’ve been crying out for a player like Ojo for a couple of seasons now. Looking forward to going over Rijeka next week now.
The big lad definitely has an impressive gpg ratio Greg.
I think some sections of support have been overly critical of the young lad but I think it’s more to do with the service, or rather, lack of service he received last season. Some sections of support will argue that the majority of those goals come from the penalty spot but as he showed last night, if he gets the right service he’ll score goals. He’s still a young lad, has plenty to learn and will only get better.
With regards to Aberdeen holding on to him if he keeps banginging in the goals – given his age, I really don’t see why the Dons shouldn’t get a good few seasons out of him. Also, think he cost the Dons something like 20k and if he does go I wouldn’t be surprised if they get anything above 500k which isn’t a bad bit of business. The issue if he does go will be getting a replacement who can match his scoring ability, this isn’t that straightforward for Scottish teams and we all know how it worked out for Stevie May. It would be nice to see Wilson start scoring goals on a regular basis but if Cosgrove keeps doing the business I’m not sure if he’ll get much of a chance with Derk Mciness’s preference for playing one up top.
From a betting perspective, big Sam might prove to be a goldmine for the scorers markets as with the exception of McGinn and Ferguson maybe scoring a few, I can’t see anyone else finding the back of the net on a regular basis.
Sless, should be a cracking away day and wouldn’t write-off the Dons getting a result over there.

**LOST** – Late Augusto penalty settles this, thought Beijing would score minimum of 3 though been poor of late. Was a toss up between a scorer in this and R&F game which would have won 🙁
According to livescore the game ended 2-0 and Bakambu scored the second one, also a penalty
Just finished work and spotted it finished 2-0, 90+7 min goal how lucky well chuffed. Saw there was a pen in early added time but had to get back to work after break, had assumed that was over after that with it being 93rd min. Happy days!

Afternoon guys,
New season almost starting. I think you can add Ajax as Dutch Champions in your season acca’s. PSV look weak without their striker Luuk de Jong. Van Bommel still plays the same system and without a tall striker like de Jong they will struggle to score. The rest of the clubs are just not good enough. Utrecht and AZ brought in some good players and are the most likely canidates to challenge for top 3.
Cheers for the Ajax thoughts.
Thanks Mr o, I already had them on mine but always good to get the local knowledge on it👍
Going to add a rogue low-stakes longshot for a bit of Night Owl entertainment; the first two hail from Brasil’s Serie B whilst the latter is taken from the Chilean top-flight:
BOTAFOGO SP (11.30pm)
LONDRINA (12.30am)

Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals treble

Happy with that after a poor couple of days!
Would’ve put a larger stake but I was unsure if there was something amiss with the PS-44 Handicap (-2) at 11/8. Its pretty much impossible to find out much about starting lineups for these teams!
Nice one. Finished my Record pages for tomorrow and heading out soon to watch the Dunfermline game with one or two pints to keep me cool.

News hot off the press.
Middlesbrough’s chairman has just completed a medical, after finding out Derby have just spent £10 million on a player.
2 new faces in 24hrs. We’ve also taken on highly rated Matt Clarke ( central defender ) on a season long loan from Brighton. Apparently, they’re working on 2 more signing but no concrete info as yet.
I think there is an overwhelming urge for most members this weekend to dive right into the domestic action after a few months of lack of choice, however, I think we should all tread carefully. Last seasons stats are all obsolete yet always feature in the number crunching process we all look at when looking for value bets.
Teams coming down a league have shed players and re-invested, all desperate to be in the mix to get back up and those promoted last season have to hit the ground running from match one – or they’ll find themselves in a relegation scrap.
Many teams in the championship are still benefitting from parachute payments – this gives them a slight edge, but invest it wrong at it goes pear shaped.
My own team Derby – on the whole are pretty consistent at making a slow start to the domestic season and we have testing trip away to Huddersfield on Sunday evening. However, Derby have not lost a game in the opening fixture in the past 10 seasons. 11 seasons back we were in the premier league. It might be a smart move for a double result on Derby come Sunday night.
I’m inclined to believe that the opening weekend will see a slightly higher amount of home wins, so choose your bets carefully guys. I’ll check back in with you tomorrow.
Good luck guys.
It’s sound advice Nathan – good luck to your Rams this season!

Some great winners from DC, Hunter, Micky, Gigi, Mr F Greg, well done fellas! Apologies if missed anyone.
No bet day for me tomorrow, gonna see how things pan out over coming weeks in English leagues before taking on markets, started off with a cracker tonight with a 6 goal thriller at Luton. Never saw that coming, hopefully more to come tomorrow!
Cheers, just in. Dunfermline was OK and enjoyed second half at Luton.
Well done Kyle 👍
Look at the amount of shots on and off target in hulls game in Bolivia, 33 on and 25 off!! 70 mins in, be amazed if no more goals lol
Dunno if you’ve just looked at the same betting company as me but I’ve just taken a look at 365 and stats claim 65 attempts on goal in opening 80 mins. Surely can’t be right, is this even realistically possible in a professional football match 🤔
That was absolutely insane. Wish there had been streaming of it. Were they playing with ten attackers each or something?
Bet down but you can only laugh in a situation like that.
Also sign those goalkeepers up now!
Bonkers. Apologies anyone on 😭
Yeah 365, either have 2 keepers each or playing with ping pong balls
UAEM Potros both to score 11/10,going off h2h
Well, words fail me but a loser in Bolivia…2-1 and a goal short:
2 goals before the half hour mark
75 shots in total
42 shots on target
🙈
That’s shocking. 42 shots on and just 3 goals. Are they u18s?
Not sure Gigi but they’re Underf*cking scrutiny in the HullShaker household tonight 🤔😂
