BAYERN MUNICH v Real Madrid never hit the heights of Liverpool v Roma but it was interesting enough.
I tipped Real not to lose and over 2.5 match goals but my Super Single was Cristiano Ronaldo to score and while he had one ruled out he didn't hit the heights in Munich.
It's looking like a Liverpool v Real final in Kiev and on the evidence of the past two nights you'd have to favour the Anfield men – but that's nothing new. Maccathered has been telling us that for months.
We move from the Champions League to the Europa League semis and the potential for two cracking contests between Arsenal and Atletico Madrid and Marseille and Red Bull Salzburg.
Arsenal beat Milan 3-1 and CSKA Moscow 4-1 in the last two rounds and while Atletico are favourites to progress they do their best work at home. I'd favour the Gunners to edge this and while Diego Simeone likes to keep it tight on the road he will see the value of an away goal so going with both to score.
Double it up with btts at Marseille. When they met in the group stage both games were low scorers but much more low key – 0-0 in France and 1-0 Red Bull in Austria.
However, this game means everything and both sides have been goal crazy in recent weeks and in the knockout stages. Marseille have netted 13 in three including five at home to Leipzig while Red Bull have battered 13 in three and hit Lazio for four in the quarters.
Well done to all the winners on Thursday and I'll put up a Super Single shortlist later and a members bet of the day. The £10 to £1000 Twitter challenge will resume on Friday.
I'm also putting up a couple of early Friday tips and backing on-form duo Fulham and Hoffenheim to win vital home games. Both are a short price but Fulham to beat Sunderland and Hoffenheim to see off Hannover looks as close to a banker double as possible.
I'll post a preview late tonight but Fulham need to win to pile pressure on Cardiff in the chase for the second automatic promotion place while Hoffenheim, unbeaten in seven, are just two points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the race for the fourth Champions League place.
My stats need to improve this month and I'm going for a big double – although it doesn't mean you have to. Only bet what you can afford to lose. I'm also taking both to win by at least two for a smaller stake. These prices could shorten so I'm using points I didn't take earlier in the week

Cheers Mr Wayne. I’ve been studying corner stats for over two years now and generally feel they’re a good way of squeezing value out games where theres just none to be found. The main objective is to try and stick with them long enough to gain some sort of edge over the bookies which I do believe is possible. At times I’ve been guilty of oversaturating my bets with them though where perhaps its not so necessary but I guess you learn from your mistakes and I’d happily take two losses in order to get three wins.

This time last year, Brondby and Midtjylland met three times in a month during the ‘Championship Group’ stage of the league season and in the cup. Brondby won two of the three meetings – winning 3-2 on their own turf, before winning 1-2 in the cup a month later, before then losing 4-2 away at Midtjylland just 3 days later back in league action. Each time, there were goals aplenty.
In a similarly congested period this year, the two sides meet a week after a cracking ‘Championship Group’ league meeting in which Brondby ran out 2-3 winners away from home. Between that time, both sides have played out goal-fests. Brondby won 3-4 at Nordsjaelland, while Midtjylland drew 3-3 at Aalborg.
I’ve been advocating, alongside many on the site, that goals and corners are usually a good thing when the top sides meet in Denmark. This has proved to be the case in the last month or so and Brondby in particular are in some run of form. I’ve tended to have more faith in Brondby this season and they’ve certainly had Midtjylland’s number, beating them on all 3 occasions so far.
In fact, Brondby come into today’s cup match having scored 14 in their last 4 – and that includes welcoming FC Copenhagen before the two away victories at Midt and Nord. They beat Midtylland on their way to the final last year, and I expect them to do the same again today on home soil. In their last 8 meetings across the past 3 seasons, Brondby have scored 2+ on 7 occasions. They have also scored 2+ in their last 14 on home soil, which does include the winter friendlies but also consists of 10 domestic fixtures.
One selection I think, in the circumstances, represents fair value.
