MONDAY was a no bet day for me but HullShaker and Jordan boosted the bank balances with some nice winners from Iceland and England's non-league.
It's a different story on Tuesday with 10 Champions League qualifiers taking pride of place and I'll be focusing on those.
The EFL Cup games and Challenge Cup games in Scotland are difficult to call and I'd suggest holding off on WDW bets until you see line-ups or doing a few stats-based goals bets. Keep stakes small whatever.
In Scotland generally the Academy teams suffer while most of the better teams will rest players so there can be plenty of goals.
There is also a full English non-league card and French League Cup tips so it's a night for people who know their cup football and have time to do research.
Celtic travel to AEK Athens after drawing 1-1 and this is a tough assignment. I've posted a preview with some thoughts on the other games.
I've decided to make the CL treble my only bet. There are dozens of games to look but that doesn't make it a good card and there are too many doubts over too many cup matches to risk points on.
I will do a couple of low-stakes goals bets in shops but they'll almost be done at random.

Not had time to write a full match preview but I’ll give some quick thoughts.
Would be a big surprise to me if Celtic go through tonight. Ajer is suspended, Simunovic faces a late fitness test, Boyata says he is injured, Edouard is a doubt and it seems Dembele has been rushed back from injury to give us the final half hour if necessary. Rumoured that Griffiths will lead the line and he is also just back from injury. Celtic looked lost for ideas both last week in the 1st leg and also in Saturdays game v Hearts. Despite have most of the possession last week I didn’t think we really looked like scoring and AEK looked dangerous on the break. I won’t be backing Athens myself of course but I’d be recommending AEK to qualify at 31/40 on BetVictor and for a better price, to win in 90 mins is 171/100 on Marathon.
Another which has caught my eye is the Spartak Moscow v PAOK game and it’s the cards market. Can’t see anywhere which has them priced up yet but will be keeping an eye out as it gets closer to kick off. The first leg had 70 booking points. The referee for tonight has dished out 35 yellows and 4 reds in his previous 7 European matches.
Sky are doing the cards market on the Spartak game aussie. But the odds are poor IMO.

The mighty Robins are back on home soil against struggling FC United. Since being promoted as champions last year, Phil Parkinson’s men have had a solid start in the dizzy heights of the NLN, notching 1 win & 2 draws. Following up from my write up for the 4-4 thriller away at Spennymoor on Saturday (I tipped two singles; Alty D/C + Over 2.5 mgls), I fully expect more goals tonight, favouring the home side.
@wasclueless has already tipped this fixture so I’ll try not to waffle on too much, but have to fancy the lads doing the business again. John Jonstone AKA ‘JJ’ is in fine form and one of Alty’s best players, expect him to make a big contribution again tonight. I use the flashcard app to keep track of scores as you can mark games to give you notifications for goals and ht/ft (useful when on the golf course).
It holds a lot of data on results, players, head to head stats etc.

Can somebody advise where the link is to post my match preview. @double-carpet , not a bad call there, you’ve picked 4 of 5 out of my choice winners tonight. Not too sure about Millwall and I only really had a little poke around last night but I’d be tempted to swap them out in favour of Mansfield.
Most of the championship will be making 6/7 changes each, but so will the opposition. With Derby having the Saturday slap me down by Leeds, I’m expecting a response from the rams tonight. We’ve 9 new players, some have not had a sniff, we’ve big names that never made the bench, they’ll want their chance and knowing that the 4-3-3 that Lampard is trying to push Derby back into having let players go over 2-3 seasons that make that happen, now we have players in abundance that can’t play in that formation. Joe Ledley couldn’t cope with Leeds OR Reading in the middle and both sides dominated that area. Leeds kept countering and capitalised on Derby’s dreadfulness. It’s a shame because Derby had patches early on that suggested we’d be competing against Leeds. I don’t think Leeds were great, BUT they were good and consistent. Derby were terrible. Derby’s only bright spark at the weekend was Chelsea loanee Tamori. 1 decent performance from 10 outfield players won’t win any match. I’d like to see him paired with Davies, but is he gonna be fit tonight? Forsyth has been pushed down the pecking order in left back but Derby pinning their hopes on Max Lowe is showing. He’s inexperienced, Forsyth could well be back tonight + a few other old and new faces. We’ll make wholesale changes tonight, but don’t be scared off by it. We have a good squad, but square pegs in round holes in a 4-3-3 is wrong for the team.
Its not a great price but we are around 7/10 with most bookies tonight to win. It’s been a few years since we lost in the first round of the Mickey Mouse cup, but we’ve not exactly romped to glory either. Don’t even think about any kind of handicap that involves a Derby bet, we probably won’t cover it, and judging by our last performance, it looked like 9 Derby players are waiting on the receipt of their blue badge !!! Must do better.

Guys really sorry for the failed Altrincham pick (O1.5 TGls & Over 3.5 mgls) was at the game and we just didn’t turn up second half.. were by far the better team first half but just didn’t take the chances or create enough.
Second half barely tested the keeper despite dominating and only had 2 shots on target, usually pepper the net at home. Players were about 15 years from each other not giving enough options.
FC United equalised as defender backed off and backed off and allowed him to pick his spot out and score.. then they got a header from a corner.
Alty almost equalised with a log range strike fizzing close to the bar, and should’ve have a last minute penalty, ref was poor
Overall underperforming against a very average looking F.C. United
Will bounce back for sure, give them a kick up the a$$ that will. Apologies again but Alty will be back to their usual form next game I’m sure.
