Following the United States earliest ever exit from the Women's World Cup England are now 5/2 favourites to be crowned World Champions.
After seeing the likes of Germany, Brazil and the US all exit the tournament already the Lionesses must be wary of any complacency ahead of this morning's last 16 clash with Nigeria.
The Nigerians are ranked 40th in the world and exceeded expectations by qualifying from Group B having been a Pot 4 seeded team in the draw.
It means there can be no excuses for Sarina Wiegman's side at 1/3.
We narrowly missed out on a winning Win to Nil bet in England's last outing when they conceded a softish penalty in their 6-1 win over China but it could pay to go in again.
The Nigerians scored three against Australia but drew blank in their games against Canada and Ireland and have mustered just nine shots on target at the tournament so far. China's goal against the English is the only one Wiegman's side have conceded. The England win to nil pays 5/6.
The day's other match see Australia's women return to Stadium Australia where 75,000 turned up to witness their opening against Ireland. They face Denmark who sneaked out of England's group courtesy of two narrow wins over China and Haiti.
Big news for the Aussies is the return of Chelsea's Sam Kerr who has missed the first three games due to a calf injury. She is all-time top scorer for the Matildas and inspirational captain.
Australia came out on top when the sides met in October and repeat win for the hosts with a huge behind them looks likely at even money.

Horse Racing Tips
Two selections have been picked out for Monday's racing with the 2pt NAP running at Ayr.
As ever, please share your tips in for today in the comments section below.
England v Nigeria – 8:30am
Fully getting on the Lauren James hype train for this mornings match. Two enhanced prices with Skybet that I think will land.
Lauren James 1+ Shots on target from outside the box – @2.75
– Her technique is wonderful when given a little bit of space. Have a look at her goals so far at her ability to guide ball into the corners.
– She’s started the last two matches, and this has landed.
– Nigeria have had a good tournament and been hard to break down. Against both Australia and Canada they defended very deep when they had to but crucially allowed space left of centre outside the box. James plays on the left but often cuts in. Nigeria allowed shots for the exact positions that I expect James to get into in all three matches, (4 v Canada, 9 v Australia, 1 v Ireland).
James 2+ Shots on target and Russo 1+ Shot on target – @5.00
– Double up boost so cant claim it’s a find! Just a very good price for what I expect to land inside the first 60.
Both lost. No where near landing even before Lauren James stamped on someones back. For anyone watching Nigeria to qualify is still evens inplay

An early pick for tomorrow as the price will likely drop.
WTA Montreal – 8th August
B Pera to beat L Noskova 2.00, Bet365
Due to all of the rain delays in Prague Noskova is playing the final now which she is currently losing by a set and break to Hibino. It’s a very long flight to Montreal so if she does manage to play you would have to question her physical/mental state given the short turnaround with so little time to adapt. I would be very surprised if this match did go ahead and I would expect Noskova to withdraw but will have a play just in case.
Will be back later with my plays for today’s matches.
As expected Noskova as withdrawn from Montreal.
Pera now plays Putintseva in round 1.
So this selection tomorrow is now void.
Liverpool v Darmstadt
Over 4 alternative goal line at 2.250 b365
Money back if there’s only 4 goals.
Best of luck
LiveScore Bet have Liverpool to win and over 3.5 goals Macca at evens. Looks a sound shout?
I couldn’t advise Liverpool to win a game of football without a recognised defensive midfielder. They will score plenty but they will also concede plenty until they address the problem.
Surely they will see if a second rate German team?!
It’s your choice master just something I wouldn’t take on for reasons mentioned.
Liverpool win & Liverpool Over 5.5 Team Goals 11/2 @ WH
Liverpool great going forward but the 6 attacking players is effecting our ability to defend giving chances up to easily. Hence why I leave the wdw market alone.
Hey Macca, what ive seen so far down the wings, teams will pick you off..Need to sort that out or you will be punished.
The squad are still learning it’s going to be like that this season that’s why I said our games will be cricket scores, it’ll be a case of trying to outscore the opposition a lot of 5-4s, just hope they bring in a few decent midfielders to shore things up. There’s a lot of experience gone with Henderson, Milner and Fabinho.

MJT,how do u think Wozniacki will fare on her comeback?
Difficult to say really given it’s been well over 3 years since her last competitive match. She did she that she was only coming out of retirement because she believed she could win titles. Will likely take her some time to get back up to speed. Always liked her as a player so would be good to see her winning big tournaments again.
Over 3.5mgs double @ 7/5 (Whill)
Molde 2 vs Hodd 2
Asker vs KFUM 2
Good luck 🤞
Not expecting much play today in either Montreal or Toronto but here are my plays:
Azarenka to beat Linette x Bencic -1.5 sets v Bronzetti 2.0, Unibet (NAP)
Azarenka has been playing some great tennis over recent months and should be too consistent for Linette. Bencic likewise has also been playing very well and her hold percentage has been excellent over the past 12 months. Should be far too good for Bronzetti.
Monfils to beat Eubanks 1.80, Bet365 (NB)
Think this is the perfect match up for Monfils. He is an excellent returner & his movement is one of the best on tour. He will get plenty of balls back in play which will frustrate Eubanks and lead to a large amount of unforced errors. My only concern here is if Eubanks serves lights out & wins tie breaks but based on how poorly he served & played against Thompson in Washington I have to take this play. He was awful in that match & could barely rally beyond 3/4 shots.
Tiafoe -2 Games v Raonic 1.82, Pinnacle
Tiafoe -1.5 Sets v Raonic 2.38, Unibet
Every chance this could be Raonic’s last appearance in Canada. With all of his injuries he has talked about the possibility of retirement. Since his comeback he has beaten Kecmanovic (poor grass record) & Novak at Wimbledon who was awful & still could have won. He lost to Thompson 7-6 6-1 wining only 61% of service points. And at Wimbledon he lost in 4 sets to Paul, which should have been in 3 given Paul served for the match in the 3rd set. Tiafoe is just the much better player. Only hope Raonic has is that he serves incredibly well & wins tie breaks. However, given all of Raonic’s injuries you would have to question his fitness at this moment in time. And if he doesn’t serve well it’s curtains for him in this match.
Mannarino -2 Games v Daniel 2.09, Pinnacle
I can’t get my ahead around these lines as I feel really Mannarino should be at least a 2.5/3 game favourite. Daniel does lead the head to head 2-0, albeit one of those was on Clay which is by far Mannarino’s worst surface. Daniel did win the other match 6-4 6-3 in Atlanta last season which is a slight concern but Mannarino for me has been playing the much better tennis over the last few months & is just the better overall player.
Hurkacz win and Over 19.5 Games v Bublik 1.83, William Hill
Hurkacz win and Over 22.5 Games v Bublik 2.60, Bet365
I wanted to get a play on the overs of some kind in this match & I do feel Hurkacz will get the win as well. Hurkacz has a lot of points to defend given he made the final of Montreal last season. I always worry about Bublik & how his motivation will be on the day. I would hope that at he is at least motivated in 1 set especially with it being a Masters event. The head to head is 5-1 for Hurkacz with him winning the last 5 & only dropping a single set. His returning stats have been worse this season so I do expect a closer set / Tie Break.
Best of luck all
