As we head in to the international break the more things change the more they stay the same.
We’re just four games in to the season north and south of the border and already its champions Manchester City and Celtic that are leading the way.
City are two points clear of the chasing pack of Spurs, Liverpool, West Ham and Arsenal. In just over a month they pay a visit to the Emirates in what could be a pivotal match in this season’s title race against Arsenal. For now they’re short favourites to make it four-in-a-row at 2/5.
Celtic’s 1-0 win at Ibrox sees them top the Scottish Premiership on goal difference from Motherwell.
Brendan Rodgers came out on top in the pressure cooker derby yesterday meaning its Michael Beale who must fend off talk of a crisis.
The Gers sit fourth, four points behind Celtic and two points behind St Mirren in third.
The bookies have cut Celtic to 1/2 to retain their crown with Rangers now at 6/4. Without Celtic and Rangers its Hearts who are favourites at 2/1 despite sitting eighth in the table with just one win in four. Second-bottom Aberdeen are 11/4, while Motherwell are 5/1.
There’s no top flight domestic action for a couple of weeks so tonight’s live match on Sky Sports comes from League One where Cambridge United entertain Reading.

Expecting Sabalenka to completely over power Kasatkina in this one & should win comfortably. She leads the head to head 4-2 with the most recent win coming just a few weeks ago 6-3 6-3. Sabalenka has been hitting so well in this tournament so far & the power difference is huge. The serve of Kasatkina is likely to be punished regularly & her loopy groundstrokes will allow Sabalenka to dictate play. As long as she does not get drawn into crazy amounts of errors this should be a similar scoreline to the recent encounter.
Zverev vs Sinner Over 39.5 Games @ 1.95 Unibet (NB)
Expecting this to be a long & close battle that could easily go the full distance. On top of that every chance of a tie break so I have to side with the over games in this one as it should be winnable in 4 sets. I would be very surprised if either won in straight sets.
D Medvedev -4.5 Games vs A De Minaur @ 1.91 Pinnacle
I have backed Medvedev a number of times this tournament & I will stick with him again today. Medvedev is 4-2 in the head to head but has lost the last 2. One of these was just recently in Toronto. However, in that match Medvedev did lead a break in both sets. There are likely to be a lot of long baseline rallies but De Minaur lacks major weapons other than simply trying to outlast his opponent into errors. I trust Medvedev with his superior serve & more powerful game to come out on top over a best of 5 format.

MJT, what about Rublev v Draper ? 2/5 on the Russian looks okay to me. Only played twice, Rublev winning both but they are recent and he is a top 8 player and a regular at the business end of slams. Draper has done really well to get this far and has that big serve to get free points but I can’t see the Brit having enough to stop the Russian over 5 sets.
I struggle to trust Rublev as a strong favourite and given how well Draper has been playing this week I couldn’t back Rublev at 2/5 personally. Draper should have won the first match in Madrid and if he serves well he can easily trouble Rublev who hasn’t been playing that well over recent weeks. If he can lose to the likes of Ruusuvuori & McDonald then no reason to think Draper can’t push him in this. I also would like Draper to win so would rather just watch and enjoy. If I was pushed I would go with either the over 37.5 Games or Rublev over 20.5 games at 2.0 William Hill as I do think Draper may take one of the opening couple of sets. Good luck though.
