Monday's top football

The SPFL Premiership play-off final is balanced on a knife edge as Livingston head north to Dingwall to take on Ross County tonight.

I fancied Livi to win the first leg and they were by far the better team but Ronan Hale’s stoppage-time penalty salvaged a 1-1 draw for the Staggies.

That strike has tipped the odds in favour of Don Cowie’s men with home advantage for tonight’s return. But David Martindale’s men have already won in Dingwall this season in the Scottish Cup so they will still fancy their chances.

Ross County vs Livingston top betting tips

The first leg was tense and tight so I’d expect a repeat tonight with a place in the top flight at stake.

County are slight favourites to win inside 90 minutes at 11/8 with BoyleSports and that looks decent value with Livi facing a long trip north.

But I’d imagine it will be scrappy so the half-time draw appeals at evens with the same firm, while McBookie price a one-goal winning margin for either side at 13/10.

Corners and cards are another good option after five players were booked in a first-leg that produced 15 flag kicks.

I’ve yet to see a market for corners or total cards but McBookie do have prices on player bookings. County’s Nohan Kenneh has been carded in his last two games and is 2/1 to make it a hat-trick.

AFC Wimbledon vs Walsall

It’s play-off final time in England’s League Two as well, with AFC Wimbledon and Walsall going for glory at Wembley.

Only four points separated these sides in the league table, with Walsall pipping the Dons to fourth, so it should be a close game.

Wimbledon have won 1-0 in their last three games while Walsall have conceded just once in the same run of fixtures. So I’d be surprised if this was a thriller and combining the half-time draw with under 2.5 goals pays 13/10 in a BoyleSports bet builder.

Games between these sides have averaged over five cards this term so that’s a market worth looking at. Over 4.5 cards pays 6/5 at Bet365 and the same firm offer 11/10 on both sides picking up two or more cards

Elversberg vs Heidenheim

Heidenheim started the season on a high but could end it on a miserable low tonight if they lose at Elversberg to crash out of the Bundesliga.

A surprise eighth-placed finish last term saw Heidenheim qualify for Europe in their first campaign back in Germany’s top flight.

But they’ve struggled to compete on two fronts this season and now find themselves in a play-off to preserve their Bundesliga status.

Elverserg claimed a 2-2 draw at Heidenheim in the first leg so they will be confident of finishing the job at home tonight.

They’re unbeaten in nine games after a strong end to the season in the second tier so look good value at 5/4 with BoyleSports for a win in 90 minutes.
It should be another close encounter and the half-time draw appeals at 23/20.
