Spartans are mounting a late charge for the League Two play-offs and can continue their fine form by seeing off Elgin City at home.

The capital side are unbeaten in six and have won four of those games including a comfortable victory at Forfar last week.

The week before then, they went up to Elgin City and beat them 2-0 at Borough Briggs and play the same opposition at Ainslie Park 11 days later.

Spartans have looked solid defensively after only conceding two goals in that run and keeping three clean sheets in a row.

Elgin have been a strange team this season. They looked poised to play a big part in the title race after a fine run of form.

But their form dropped off a cliff after a nightmare run of six defeats in a row where they only scored two goals.

To be fair, last week they ended the run with a win over Clyde. But Spartans can leapfrog Elgin into the play-off spots with a win and look good value to do it at 11/10 with McBookie.com.

In the same league, Stranraer look solid shouts to see off faltering Forfar Athletic at a shade under evens at 20/21 with McBookie.com.

Forfar are in a desperate fight to avoid the fate of Stranraer last season and finish bottom of the Scottish League.

They gave themselves some hope with two wins in a row – including a last gasp victory at Stranraer a couple of weeks ago – but reverted to type last week with defeat at home.

Apart from that setback, Stranraer have been in excellent form and that was topped off with an outstanding 3-0 win in Methil last week against leaders East Fife. They also drew with title challengers Peterhead the week before.

They are a side heading in the right direction and they can gain some revenge on Forfar this week.

League One leaders Arbroath fluffed their lines last week after being surprisingly held to a draw by doomed Dumbarton at home.

But they can make up for it by winning at Kelty Hearts at McBookie.com's 21/20.

The Gayfield side had won four in a row up until then and six out of seven. They are still on course to a return to the Championship though.

Kelty Hearts gained a good point at Stenhousemuir last week but goals are a major problem for them – they have scored just two in their last seven matches.
