Marcus Rashford next club betting odds: Will he stay at Manchester United?

Marcus Rashford made headlines this week when he announced that he was ready for a new challenge, sparking rumours that a transfer away from Old Trafford would be the most likely move for the forward in the January window. 

Rashford's comments and speculation come after both he and wing partner Alejandro Garnacho were left out of United's squad to face Manchester City in last weekend's derby. This will have been particularly disappointing for the pair as their side were able to come away 2-1 victors without their help.

Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim fired back at the comments, stating that United are certainly a better team with Rashford included, but the Englishman's desire to progress his career may render this response futile.

Now, the market has opened up as to where the wide man will go next, with an Old Trafford exit appearing more and more likely.

Below is a table of the top five teams expected to make a bid for Rashford, should he decide to depart Old Trafford in next summer's transfer window. When considering the current prices, Barcelona appear to have the best chance of landing the England international.

Teams to watch

PSG – 7/2

PSG have emerged as the leading option for Rashford at present. Luis Enrique's side have really struggled in the Champions League this season, only amassing seven points from six games.

The club currently sits outside the qualification places of the competition's new league stage format.

Failure to qualify for the next stage would be catastrophic for Enrique, especially when considering the amount of money invested in the club in recent years.

Since the departure of star player Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid, PSG have not been able to find a marquee player of a similar calibre to replace the Frenchman, and this has been the focal point of their struggles.

However, Rashford could be the aforementioned signing, and fill the void created by the Frenchman. Becoming the main man at another of Europe's most recognised clubs could greatly the alter the trajectory of both PSG's season, and Rashford's career.

Although hardly as lauded as Mbappe, Rashford fits the bill for the type of renowned player that could take over the mantle at the French giants. At 7/2, PSG are good value for punters, and have become established as the favourites to land Rashford's signature.

Any Saudi club – 6/1

A move to Saudi Arabia has also become a clear option for Rashford. Currently earning £300,000 per week, there is a distinct possibility that a Saudi team may be the only club willing to cover his extortionate wages.

Fellow former Premier League stars such as N'Golo Kante have moved to Saudi Arabia in the hope of securing one final pay cheque, but with the Englishman still only 27 years of age, a retirement choice would seem rather premature.

However, the bookies are not ruling this out as a possibility. At 6/1, a move to Saudi could tempt Rashford if no other big clubs come calling. Punters may want select this option if no further news develops in the run up to the January window.

Arsenal – 8/1

Shockingly, close Premier League rivals Arsenal have also presented themselves to be willing to take a punt on Rashford.

With Leandro Trossard rumoured to be interested in a move to Saudi Arabia in the summer and Gabriel Martinelli only managing three goals and two assists in 11 league games, the Manchester United man could be the perfect gamble for Mikel Arteta.

With Arsenal having transitioned to a more defensive, lower press setup in recent months, the style of play implemented at the London club could be exactly what Rashford needs to succeed.

Given an outside chance of securing Rashford's services at 9/1, Arsenal's high speed counter-attacks and good possession play are what makes the winger tick, so expect Arteta to get the best out of him if he decides to make an unprecedented switch to The Emirates.

A Trossard departure would see Arsenal's odds shorten, so now would be the time to back the move before it is too late.

Barcelona – 11/1

Hansi Flick's Barcelona are the current favourites to take Rashford on and revitalise his career.

Flick has something of a magic touch when it comes to getting the best out of struggling players, as he has completely rejuvenated former Leeds star Raphinha this season.

The Brazilian currently has seven goals and six assists in 13 league matches, and is also the joint top scorer in the Champions League.

With Rashford having lost that golden touch he had in the 2022/23 season where he scored 17 league goals, Flick may just be the man to return him to his former glory with the Blaugrana.

At 11/1 they are seen as the outsiders in the current market, but could be a good dark horse choice for punters.
