Spain U21 v Russia U21, Thursday 17:00

Holders Spain kick off their defence against a Russian team who they have beaten in their last three competitive meetings and who are considered the real outsiders to qualify form Group B. A cursory glance at the two sides' differing qualification campaigns goes some way to backing up this notion.

The Spanish won all but one of their ten qualifying fixtures en route to Israel, only dropping points against Switzerland in Group 5, the team that they overcame in the 2011 final.

As a result, it's not difficult to see why they have been installed as the 2.92 pre-tournament favourites. They simply pummelled Group 4 runners-up Denmark in their two-legged qualifying play-off, thrashing them 8-1 on aggregate in their last competitive matches back in October.

Since then, the likes of Barcelona's Thiago Alcantara and Malaga's Isco have helped La Roja win three out of their four friendlies – including a 3-1 win over Russia back in March – averaging exactly three goals per game. They have however conceded in every one of their last five matches.

  • Best Bet: Back Spain U21 to score three goals or more @ 3.15
  • Other Recommended Bet: Back both teams to score @1.96

Netherlands U21 v Germany U21, Thursday 19:30

Winners of this tournament in 2009, Germany arrive in Israel looking to go all the way after a sensational qualifying campaign. They swept aside all-comers in Group 1, dropping points only once against a Bosnia side they still managed to finish eight points clear of.

Finishing the group stage with a +30 goal difference highlights just what a free-scoring, slick outfit Germany are, led by skipper Lewis Holtby, who joined Tottenham in January.

Meanwhile the Dutch have taken a while to get back into finals shape since winning the trophy twice in 2006 and 2007, having missed out on the last two editions.

The Jong Oranje were worthy winners of Group 10, though a loss and a draw against Scotland – whose only other qualifying victories came against Luxembourg – en route to the finals suggests that this Germany side may be too strong to contend with.

  • Recommended Bet: Back Germany U21 to beat Netherlands U21 @ 2.6

Air Force and Kaya 0-0 at HT. Kaya are Evens to score 2 or more goals in the second half, decent chance of happening IMO.

Awright Lads been hectic week @ work and not to much doing in the way of football although seen youse were having some joy with in play goals looking at Thursday action few not bad looking games

for anybody with a Paddy Power account snap up there EVENS on offer for Tanjong Pagar -1 and HT/FT

staying with the same firm for odds look at Deportivo Marquense vs Deportivo Malacateco in the Gautemala play offs 2-3 goals @ 1.91 looks not bad and for the more optimistic 4+ is 3.20

If it does pop up, might be worth holding off until Flora get the first goal. We’ve seen in other Estonian Cup matches that it can be 0-0 for a while but when the first goal goes in, the minnow crumbles. An early Flora goal and I fully expect the same kind of result as Trans Narva who won 11-1.

    • Milesey 11 years ago

Bet365 do have an estonia Cup game due to go inplay later, but not too sure what to make of that one to be honest with you. So for me will probably leave that alone, unless anyway has a look and thinks otherwise.

    EURO U21 TIPS:
    Spain v Russia
    Spain win h/t & f/t evens
    Spain -1 11/10
Spain to win to 0 5/4
In last 9 games Spain have only conceded 1 goal
The minus 1 handicap paid out in 12 of Spains last 14 games.
In last 11 games Spain have been winning at halftime and again winning at fulltime in 10 of those games.

    Holland v Germany
    Btts 4/6
    Over 2.5 goals 5/6
An amazing stat is that the Dutch u21 team have scored in every game bar 1 in the past 4 years and Germany have scored in all of their last 24 games, both teams are capable of leaking a few too at this level, the dutch had 3 scored recently against them against the Irish and Germany let in 4 against Bosnia.
Expect all above tips to have a cracking chance based on the stats. GOOD LUCK.

Milesey what you doing on that Tallinna game?

    • Milesey 11 years ago

no idea at the moment to be honest with you, wanted the FLORA game what was scheduled for inplay but looks like it’s a no go on bet365, but williamhill have it for anyone with a willhill account.

TALLINNA FC SOCCERNET V JK TAMMEKA TARTU II

i’ll have a look when it goes inplay to see what it’s saying, its an 18:30 k/o, so hopefully should be something around 18:20, but if the goal market is too high then i may just watch in the hope no early goals and comes down abit, i don’t fancy going for an over 8.5 goals in the match, or over 3.5 h/t goals.

    Spain U21s v Russia U21s

The favourites kick off their campaign this afternoon and they should pick up 3 points. They have quality throughout their side with the likes off Isco, Thiago Rodrigo,Tello, and united keeper De Gea. With this quality Im back to one of my favourite markets goals and taking Stan James 8/13 for Spain to score over 1.5

Russia on the other hand will be without their star name Alan Dzagoev who is away with the senior squad.

As Ive said I belive Spain will win and Rodrigo can be the man to fire them to 3 points here, he is 5/4 to net anytime with Betvictor.

BET SPAIN TO SCORE OVER 1.5 GOALS
    BET RODRIGO TO SCORE ANYTIME

Good luck if your having a bet

  11. Nonny 11 years ago

i mean if i play only 5 clubs on a single bet slip can it go for perm 4games out of the 5games on a single bet, thanks for intrest

I’m on Spain u21 v Russia u21 over 2.5 goals 4/5 what you think milsey

  13. thechief 11 years ago

With several matches taking place across several boards and some prelim games its hard for punters to find some real value, Alot of matches are priced up close so they will not really be seen as upsets.

If there is to be one it could be a big one James Wade the second most decorated player in PDC history as a fight on his hands tonight when he takes on big Robbie Green. Kong is a fine player in his own right, and we saw in the premier league Wadey can be awesome or awewful

I just think if Wade his off his game in this short format then Green can take him out. 3/1 looks generous to me.

My best bet of the night is Adam Hunt 4/6 to beat Paul Amos.He is not a household name yet, but he might be tonight if he lands our bet. He recently won the challenge tour and his knocking on the door of the top 100.

Finally Phil Taylor starts his campaign tonight when he takes on Kevin Dowling, the power is 1/33 to win. Whilst them odds dont appeal BetVictor 11/5 on a Taylor whitewash certainly do, I may be kind and give Dowling a leg 5-1 is 15/8.

    BET TAYLOR TO WIN 5-0 @ 11/5
    BET TAYLOR TO WIN 5-1 @ 15/8

    BEST BET

BET ADAM HUNT TO BEAT PAUL AMOS @ 4/6

    LONGSHOT

BET ROBBIE GREEN TO BEAT JAMES WADE @ 3/1

    Good luck

What about this other cup game that 365 have got? Anyone done some homework on it?

    • Milesey 11 years ago

The away team will win, but not sure if they are capable of scoring that many goals, worth a look at the market when it comes inplay, but i wouldn’t suggest going to stupid amounts of goals, if it has over 2.5 ht, over 5.5 match goals, then might be worth a punt, anything more then that then i wouldn’t be sure about it !

    • Milesey 11 years ago

Nope, was a sickner all them goals going in, the one bet365 did offer was 0-0 at h/t and finished 0-4 f/t.

They would have got hammered on this game, so will have to find another they will offer i can hammer them at, might have to look at the australian lower leagues saturday morning.

Whats going on at bet365 Kari v Vidir . Vidir scored at 4mins but its still showing 0-0

  28. Patrick 11 years ago

Disallowed Fathead. Bet365 are annoying when that happens as they add a second goal symbol to confuse the issue.

  29. Froody 11 years ago

Last min Holland goal was a kick in the teeth, had the draw at half time 7/1 at 2-0, doubled with Hungary 4/7 who were 0-0 with Kuwait. Better luck tomorrow one hopes.

Looking at Russia 2moro 7/2 against Portugal a team that never convince me at all in qualifying (lucky to escape with a late draw agains Sean’s NI a few months ago)and have never let me down in a disappointing sense for years. Outright win may be ambitious but I dont se Russia losing…Russia DNB or lay Portugal for me. Croatia will beat Scotland but at 3/10 not great value but could see an easy 2-0 (minus 1 perhaps?) Belgium and are hot stuff at 4/7 look decent as well. Think that looks like my 3 at the mo

  36. Milesey 11 years ago

    I’m taking Russia +0.5
    Croatia -1 or ht/ft
and Belgium to win to nil.

    Milesey

    • Guido 11 years ago

Id strongly agree with you there Milesey. Not a fan of backing “winning to nil” but think Belgium will win and very confident of the other pair.

  37. Guido 11 years ago

ooooo…not a fan of Portugal and Russia EVS on double chance :-) …..I’d have to stick my neck out n say that, for me, I’m pretty confident that they will not lose and, therefore, they’d be my BANKER 2moro…ya listening Sean?

    • Milesey 11 years ago

I’m expecting a Russia win, but going to play cautious, the +0.5 handicap is a nice price, and if it’s a draw then i win anyway ;)

      Milesey

    • Guido 11 years ago

      what price on plus 0.5?

  38. thechief 11 years ago

Im glad I gave Kevin Dowling one…. A leg that is

    Result Taylor 5-1 Dowling ;)

  39. Guido 11 years ago

Milesey, Russia +0.5 on Asian? I forget, so if its a draw its a winner?..no half stake losses etc?

    • Milesey 11 years ago

the + 0.5 is around the 6/5 mark, you would lose half stakes if you did 0, +0.5, if it ended in the draw you would lose half your stake etc……

      Milesey

  40. Guido 11 years ago

Looking at the result in Brazil last night, virtually all the underdogs won on the night….nice roll-up for someone
