I POSTED Saturday's Super Single with Friday's tips and it's only the second time I've done that.

The last time the selection was a winner and I'm hoping Bournemouth live up to their billing as Championship leaders and take care of Norwich at home.

When I was putting together a Super Single shortlist on Thursday I was surprised Bournemouth were at priced up higher than evens for a match against a side who have struggled on the road.

They were managerless at that time but Hamilton's Alex Neil had been offered the job and on Friday morning he accepted it. I often steer clear of backing against sides with new bosses but I made up my mind to back Bournemouth after listening to Neil's half-our press conference at Carrow Road.

This is a guy who's achieved more than anyone thought was possible at Hamilton and he's not stupid. So when asked if he'd be in the dugout at Dean Court the new man admitted he'd not been at the club enough to “impact” on the game and expected that reaction the following week.

Norwich players will no doubt want to impress as Neil decides who stays and who goes but they'll be under the control of Mike Phelan as they were last week when losing tamely to Preston in the FA Cup.

Bournemouth away is as tough as it gets, a real baptism of fire and Neil has quite rightly stepped away from the situation.

Bournemouth's only defeat in their last 17 was to Liverpool in the Capital One Cup when they rested players and even with a weakened side won 5-1 at Rotherham in the FA Cup last weekend.

Eddie Howe's men have been a breath of fresh air this season and keep banging in the goals with 21 in six matches. The surprise to me is Bournemouth are priced up at over evens with McBookie and BetVictor going 21-20 and I can't ignore the value.

Another “B” team on my short list were Bolton who continue to improve under Neil Lennon and at home they've won six and drawn one of their last seven. Visitors are Leeds who have taken one point in 15 and haven't won away since mid-September. Bolton are also priced above evens with boylesports going 21-20.

And what about Birmingham at home to Wigan for a B treble. Birmingham showed their renewed spirit by battling back from 2-0 down to beat Blyth Spartans in the FA Cup and have won four of their last five. Wigan have lost five out of six under Malky Mackay and Brum look a decent bet at 6-4 with Betfred and bet365.

Super Single

Bournemouth
(21-20, McBookie, BetVictor)

Mr F,im gonna go against you with the Bolton v Leeds match.I was chuffed with the way we set about Sunderland, especially in the 2nd half, and Redfearn had made 7 changes as well.Bolton have only beaten us once in nine at their place, and Leeds have won six of those.I think Redfearn will change things round to halt our slump,so im going Leeds DC 4/5 @ Coral.Good luck.

Flickhead, that won’t be the team who play at Bolton. Championship games are always tough to call though and while I like Bolton I haven’t put them on my top tips.

Mr f I’m gonna stay clear of picking a winner in the Bournemouth game as I can see Norwich raising their game.

    My bet is gonna be

-1 CHELSEA HANDICAP – this time were gonna take a good beating we have a stronger team on the injury table then we will be fielding tomorrow and mourinho will want revenge, would take it as a single but too short @4/7 -2 is 6/4

    Bournemouth v Norwich

    OVER 2.5 MG @4/6

No need to say much to back this up with Bournemouth playing they always seem to score 2+ and I fancy Norwich to bag too.

    DOUBLE PAYS 261.90 (£100 stake)

Toon, we agree on something then – Chelsea -1 is on my homes.

It’s the defensive side of things for Leeds they will not stop Bolton scoring . He has changed the formation but as a Leeds fan I cannot see anything positive tomorrow for Leeds . All stats have been broken with Leeds and tomorrow will be the same.

I’ve won a few quid with Bournemouth this season so it’s a great SS choice for me Mr F. Can I add a tip of my own to this thread please? Crewe v Gillingham BTTS and Crewe to win. 7/2 @ Skybet for starters. It will happen. :) Keep up the great tips Mr F and others!

I’d have Bournemouth as my first choice and I’m a Crewe fan so no worries there Mr F. Just suggesting another little separate tip for the guys as a backup. I’m at the game and really fancy it. :) I do pretty well with my own bets after research etc but you and some of the other guys on this site have improved my bankroll in the past 18 months so thanks and please keep it up.

Never back against a team with a new manager, form goes out the window.

    • Avatar of Mr Fixit
      Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Stu24, I’m usually reluctant to do so but make an exception in this case with Neil not being involved with the team and Bournemouth’s form so good.
