SPURS boss Andre Villas-Boas has been cut to 1-3* to be the next Premier League manager to go after his side's 5-0 defeat at home to Liverpool.

The result means Spurs have won just one of their last six league matches at White Hart Lane and sit seventh in the league table, five points adrift of the top four.

Coral spokesman Tim Reynolds said: “Prior to Tottenham’s latest defeat there was speculation that they may be getting ready to replace Villas-Boas with Fabio Capello being sighted in the press box.

“The current Russia manager has always expressed a desire to return to the Premier League and with his impeccable record at club level, Daniel Levy may decide it’s a good time to let AVB go.”

Meanwhile, Martin Jol has been backed to make a return to Premier League management with West Brom even though the Baggies would love to bring back Roberto di Matteo who is on gardening leave at Chelsea.

Fired Fulham boss Jol, an ex-Baggies player, wouldn't be a popular choice with fans but has been cut to 6-1 behind 4-1 di Matteo.

Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Donohue said: “The early money suggests Jol is in line for a quick return to top-flight management. He's been supported virtually at the exclusion of all other contenders including favourite di Matteo.”

Elsewhere in the Premier League, Manchester United are 4-7 not to finish in the top four despite having overcome Aston Villa 3-0. The Premier League champions sit eighth in the league table, seven points adrift of fourth-placed Man City.

In the Premier League top scorer betting, Luis Suarez’s double against Tottenham sees the Uruguayan's odds cut to 2-5. Suarez’s sits top of the charts, four goals ahead of Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero who is 10-3.

City are 11-10 title favourites ahead of 4-1 Arsenal, Chelsea, 7-1 Liverpool, 16-1 Man United, 40-1 Everton.

* Villas-Boas has now been sacked.

He spent 100m they got from Bale, they need time to adjust to each other. AVB turned down several big jobs in Europe in the summer. They sack him who replaces him? Levy won’t go crawling to Harry, and Capello he speaks worse English than AVB, spurs fans won’t be happy with him. AVB should get to summer, and then they will replace him with Klopp or Klinsman

Spurs have got to big for there boots. They thought they had caught the arsenal up.
I told my spurs mate in august avb will be sacked by Xmas wish I put money where my mouth was.
Spurs sold there super star and brought in to many. As a gooner knows it takes time to settle when our top player leaves and takes new players time to settle. And I new that spurs fans wouldn’t be happy if arsenal improved.
As a Goober I hope they sack him as I think he is a good manager.
Better than what they will get.
    Maybe hoddle will come back.
It must be worse for spurs know arsenal gave them £43m to spend(waste) buying ozil so real could put our money towards buying bale hahahaha money well spent arsenal

My thoughts are do the right thing and part company with AVB as there is no team morale and players are being played then dropped nearly every game, there has been no continuity with team selection, players playing out of positions and tactics are non evident apart from to get hammered, I’d like to see Michael laudrup, plays attractive football wth pace and wingers, still uses one up top mostly, think buying bony has upset that there team pattern a little, michu was on fire last season on his own, or a long shot I’d like Diego simeone given a go but doubt athletico will let him go, the problem is that the two Best managers around (Martinez and Rogers) are both taken and on good contracts,

I would bring back Juande Ramos- the Spurs fans still talk about him.

Steve there is a possibikity of Michael Laudrop, as you say he does play attractive football. Tottenham wont get Diego simone, why would he want to leave a.madrid in the middle of the fantastic season, champions league group winners, and second In la liga level on points with barca.

raaljaca, the problem is expectations have changed and he spent £100m on new players in the summer. If you spend that kind of money and don’t finish top four it’s curtains whether you’re a better boss than Arthur Turner or not.

raaljaca – Interesting stats. From this list i can only read expectations are too high at Spurs.

AVB’s career just went a bit too fast and will be pretty scared if he gets booted by Spurs. Before joining Chelsea he only had very little experience and had no track record with a club for longer then a year. Chelsea gambled taking him, and Tottenham did the same.

i’m lookimg at that 16-1 for the mancs to get the prem title. although i don’t see it happening, at that price its gotta be worth a cheeky £20 on an each way. but then again nobody gave derby a hope in hells chance of closing the 16 point gap to the top of the championship 10 games back. thats down to 5 points at the mo, and judging by who is playing who in the run up to xmas, i don’t see anyone other than my beloved derby being at the top of the league come the new year. 4 wins coming our way on the bounce.

I agree James just wishful thinking on simeone coming, hiddenk is being touted as a name but never stays long enough at one club, I’d have Harry back but the relationship with levy not a good one, maybe Tim sherwood should be promoted as he is held in high regard at spurs, very respected by the players, I also think the adebayour ekotto situation is a joke and his tweet yesterday was a great stab at AVB too.

Baldini has to take some of the blame as well.

I think most of these signings weren’t AVB’s (Lamela, Eriksen)

He wanted Moutinho, Willian and never got either one of them.

Saying that he has to do much better with the talent in that squad.

avb was just too rigid . He neither listen nor learn . If a formla isn’t working find a right one . He played 4 4 2 / 4 3 3 with won big matches for him inculding man city’s match last season ; why change back to 4 5 1 ? He gave europa priority leaving the league . His man management is poor . Tactically he is one way traffic no plan b . I think he has to go back and learn as number 2 old fox . He was fortunate to win the europa cup .
