Cairnzy's tips
Maritime Lady 4/1 – Leicester 6.45
I think the current favourite and last time out winner Chicago Gal can be taken on in this contest. She takes a step up in class and may just be vulnerable to a few of these.
The one I like is the James Owen-trained Maritime Lady, who has the benefit of Silvestre De Sousa in the saddle for this race. I think you can draw a line through her recent outing at Yarmouth, she was dropped in trip from 1m4 to 1m2 which didn't suit and after watching a replay of this race, she also encountered some trouble in running. Back up in trip at a track like Leicester should hopefully see her run a better race.
Inherit 15/8 – Leicester 7.50
The lightly raced Inherit looks poised to get of the mark for trainer Sir Michael Stoute in this contest. She was only seen the one time last season which was on debut at Sandown. She was soundly beaten in that race, finishing 9L of the eventual winner Classical Song who has since gone on to place in Group company.
Of course, it's unknown whether Inherit will hit those sorts of heights but she did return after a break with two encouraging runs at Yarmouth and Newmarket, finishing in the placings in both of those races. She is beautifully bred and connections will be hoping that an opening mark of 75 will allow her to get the head in front in what looks a below-average handicap.
Rizzel's tips
Kurimu 3/1 – Leicester 8.20
Kurimu managed to land his first win off his career at Doncaster last time around and I believe a 2lb increase in the weights isn't going to be enough to stop the follow up.
He had been running consistently well for the most part of this season, and it was about right that he got his head in front last time out. The form hasn't worked out the best since, but I'm not sure those in behind have run to par in their next runs, and I do think Kurimu looks in store of landing a couple more wins before his progression is halted by the handicapper.
Chris Dwyer is in decent form with 2 wins in the last fortnight from 7 runners and his SR when combined with SDS is 20% from 339 runs.
Say Yes To Dreams 12/1 – Naas 5.18
For the first Listed race of the night, we have a 5f sprint for the juveniles.
This is an interesting contest, with not one horse having an outstanding claim of winning this. I thought that Say Yes To Dreams was a decent price against the Burke and Aidan horse as Donnacha's filly ran well on debut to finish 2nd to Merrily (runs in this race), and she clearly showed signs of inexperience but showed enough ability to suggest she can be an above average filly. With that experience under her belt, I think she can hold her own in this race, which doesn't seem to be full of top-level fillies.
Donacha O'Brien is 3/8 in the last fortnight.
WHAT IS A LUCKY 15 BET?
A Lucky 15 bet consists of 15 unique bets, covering every possible combination that comes from backing four selections. The 15 bets are broken down like this:
– 1 fourfold accumulator
– 4 trebles, with each treble omitting one of your selections
– 6 doubles, again covering every possible combination
– 4 singles
The attraction of a Lucky 15 is that it offers many more ways to win than a standard accumulator. A Lucky 15 uses both your acca and your singles as well as producing trebles and doubles that reward you for correctly calling 2/4 or 3/4 of your selections. To cover the 15 separate bets, a Lucky 15 uses your stake 15 times. If you were to place £1 on a Lucky 15, you would be staking £15 in total across the various bets.
