We finally landed an outright winner yesterday but it was only with a short-priced 2nd which wasn't good enough given the prices of the selections.
Today's runners are a bit of a mixture, I am taking a chance on a lightly raced 2yo based mainly on the connections, Big R looks solid on paper whilst New Kings Road can outrun his price, the Irish runner is chancy but has a day in him.
Attacanter's Tips
Hucklesbrook 3/1 four places – 17.45 Kempton
This ownership group are seldom seen but I do remember Kenzai Warrior back in 2021 when winning at 22/1, a 97 rated winner in a Class 2 at this track. It's no reason to back the horse but I am confident we'll see an honest performance.
Roger Teal isn't the most prolific trainer but he did have a nice-priced winner at Ascot on Saturday, that horse is responsible for 3 of his last 4 wins but I'll include Hucklesbrook based on expected value. There are plenty I could have offered up at a nicer price but all would have carried an element of guesswork, mine goes in as what we can hope as a place banker to at least prop up our returns.
Big R 9/2 four places- 20.15 Kempton
Another short-priced runner in an extra-placed race isn't exactly what I like including in the bet, it didn't particularly work out yesterday either but there is more enthusiasm today.
Big R seems quite a straightforward choice despite failing to win over C&D when last seen 33 days ago rated 68. A pound higher today, the stable jockey takes over which is a positive as he was on the last time this horse won back in March over today's C&D. The form for the level of that race reads fine enough, today would be his 3rd win over C&D this year.
The trainer has had a few go in recently enough, the last time she sent just one to this track, it was a winner, a horse who had placed for us previously. There is always a risk of the bounce factor in a big field but his run last time was likeable enough.
He was prominent throughout and had the rest beaten, only done by a fast finishing closer who had slipped 18lbs below his opening mark in just 7 runs. We looked highly tried enough but given no other horse went past we can remain confident he'll remain competitive.
New Kings Road 14/1 four places – 18.45 Kempton
I suspect many people are fond of Richard Hannon, a very likeable trainer who mixes it at the top level. He had a winner yesterday with his stable apprentice Joe Leavy and sends out five for consideration today.
Hofburg was of interest in the 17.45 before settling on the favourite, Africa Charm is a bit chancy for noteworthy owners so it is New Kings Road who is given a chance with an extra place on offer at a generous enough price.
This gelding has already won twice this year, both on grass. He's seen the bright lights of Kempton twice, once on handicap debut before recently in early September. He is back on his last winning mark, his two previous runs were over 1m2f so the drop back in trip is a positive given it's his only winning distance.
Jawhary 14/1 five places – 16.57 Navan

WHAT IS A LUCKY 15 BET?
A Lucky 15 bet consists of 15 unique bets, covering every possible combination that comes from backing four selections. The 15 bets are broken down like this:
– 1 fourfold accumulator
– 4 trebles, with each treble omitting one of your selections
– 6 doubles, again covering every possible combination
– 4 singles
The attraction of a Lucky 15 is that it offers many more ways to win than a standard accumulator. A Lucky 15 uses both your acca and your singles as well as producing trebles and doubles that reward you for correctly calling 2/4 or 3/4 of your selections. To cover the 15 separate bets, a Lucky 15 uses your stake 15 times. If you were to place £1 on a Lucky 15, you would be staking £15 in total across the various bets.
