Both of Cairnzy's Monday's runners didn't manage to win. He was worried about the Simon Crisford newcomer at the top of the market, but it was the second-string runner who came with a swooping run down the outside to take the win away from his first runner. The second runner was keen towards the rear and didn't really put in a threatening effort when asked.

Miss Moonshine 6/1 – Wolverhampton 6.30
Tuesday's racing at Wolverhampton is not the best racing we'll see over the winter, but with this being the only action of Tuesday due to two other meetings being cancelled due to the poor weather, Wolverhampton will have to do.
I've decided to go for one of the poorest races in terms of quality of the day, which actually offers some decent prize money, with £4,711 going to the winner, which is more than a Class 5 earlier on the card. With decent prize money on offer, and with this not being a handicap (classified stakes) I thought Miss Moonshine was worth a go for the in-form Rod Millman stable. This horse seems to be primed for the Class 6 races when they offer decent prize money, similar to today, but he has done his winning in handicaps. Today's race is his first attempt at a classified level, and when looking at the opposition, it looks like a great opportunity for him to get back in the winner's enclosure for the first time since March of last year.
Oliver Searle is a regular rider on Miss Moonshine, and they have struck up a good partnership. The mare has won off marks of 55 and 52 in the last 12 months, which is higher than today's mark of 50, but handicaps are definitely more competitive than this type of race, so we know that she can operate at a better level. Her first two runs since her 190-day break haven't been fantastic, but her second run was definitely better than her first, and with further fitness on her side I think she'll take another big step forward and at the ratings, she is the one to beat.
