Rizz has been in top form of late, and he continued the winning form yesterday with his sole selection of the day winning at Wincanton.
Somespring Special put in a solid performance under jockey Michael Nolan and barely put a foot wrong the entire contest. There were question marks beforehand regarding her habit of jumping out to the left, but from watching a replay, she jumped most of the obstacles well and ultimately was on a different level to her opposition.
I forgot to mention to you all last week that I've decided to take a step back from the main thread. Rizz and I have spent the last while taking turns to post selections, which has worked for both of us in terms of halving the workload and having a break away from racing.
Unfortunately for myself, I came to the decision last week to step back from the main thread. In the meantime, I will solely cover the Lucky 15 side of things, which is only posted twice a week.
I started a new job around eight months ago, and the hours have seriously restricted me in terms of having time to work on the thread and have time to myself outside of work. Furthermore, I've never been one to shy away from poor form, and as much as I understand it comes in batches in this game, I've had a frustrating time of things this past while. Something that was once an enjoyable hobby has now become a chore, which is disappointing because I do enjoy the dreaded game, which is racing.
Rizz will continue to provide tips daily on the main thread and the Lucky 15 side of things will be posted twice a week for those who enjoy that sort of bet. I will continue to cover Rizz when he wants a break etc, but for the foreseeable, that is how things will operate.
Thanks to those who have supported me during the good and bad times, it's a tough old game racing, and those who follow daily will understand where I am coming from.
Cairnzy's Tips
Three Yorkshiremen 13/8 – Newcastle 4.43
A few of these arrive in better form than my selection, with the thriving Rubellite and last time out winner Ana Emaraaty being the two obvious contenders. Rubellite arrives in the better form of the two, with recent form figures of 121311 since the start of this year. I had concerns, however, over the drop in trip for Rubellite as she looks better over further, with her last three wins coming between 1m4f and up to 2m.
Ana Emaraaty is the horse I'm most worried about, as she seemed to appreciate the step up in trip last time out. She should be there or there abouts under Paul Mulreenan and she looks the value play against my selection at 4/1.
With that said, I've opted to stick with the Michael Wighum-trained Three Yorkshiremen. My selection arrives here a tad out of sorts which is concerning, but this contest represents a significant drop in class for Three Yorkshiremen, who has been contesting in Class 4/5s in his last few outings.
I don't believe the 7f trip that my selection has been running over recently has suited him, and this step back up in trip to 1m2f looks like the right move in my opinion. My selection also comes here 5lb lower than when winning over this trip last April and was notably eased down at the finish on that occasion, suggesting he had plenty left in the tank.
Still only a five-year-old, Three Yorkshiremen should have more to offer in this sphere, and the booking of inform Rossa Ryan suggests a big run is on the cards.
Trac 25/1 EW – Hexham 4.50
My second selection of the day is the Micky Hammond-trained Trac, who was an old winning selection of mine from last year's jump season. He rewarded me handsomely last season when winning at 10/1, but he has been unable to match the same form this term. With that said, his last two wins came around this same time last year when winning at Newcastle and Carlisle over 2m.
Trac has dropped down the weights a little due to his poor form and arrives here back on his last winning mark, when winning at Carlisle under jockey Conor O'Farrell. Most of Trac's better form has come on softer ground; however, he does have winning form on good ground from back in 2023, and I wouldn't be put off by the forecast good-to-soft conditions.
My selection needs a revival here to be involved, but I'm hoping a recent wind op will have perked him up a bit. Trac is the outsider of the field, but I thought 25/1 was potentially underestimating his ability if on a going day.

Bloke next door to me here in Bangor went to your new stadium at the weekend and was blown away with it apart from the pre arranged stadium evacuation.
West ham fans also said that but now most say they preferred the hostile atmosphere at Upton park.
All you need to do now is fill it 🤣, only joking.
Racing is an impossible conundrum and many if not all have tried and failed to stay ahead of the bookie long term so no shame in standing down as if you had 24/7 to study form such is the inconsistency of results and likely corruption through handicap fiddling that you wouldn’t do much better
At least dazzman will leave you alone now 🤣🤣.
It’s easy for us posters here as we’re not accountable and don’t have to take the flak when tips lose and I don’t envy rizzell at all.
One thing I was right about was when I said the stats +and – would drift away in time when form dipped and they have.
But as you know I don’t think they’re a good idea so glad as like any gambling, people tend to chase losses if they follow instead of focussing on the future.
Why not post a pressure free daily NAP here in the comments cairnzy, every little helps as the saying goes.
1-6 shot going at Hexham in 5 minutes.
Surely this won’t follow fasol into the “what the f**k was that category”
👍
Good luck cairnzy.
