Rizz is on holiday and will return on Saturday for Sunday's racing. In the meantime, I will cover the main thread until he returns.
Rizz had two selections yesterday on the flat at Redcar. His main selection was unfortunately a losing one, with Barefoot Warrior unable to justify favouritism for the David O'Meara yard.
His other selection was advised on Sunday night as an eachway play in a race which had a very strong favourite from the Karl Burke yard. Without Burlington was weak in the market and drifted slightly before the off. Although not winning on the day, he did knuckle down to nab a place, which resulted in some decent each way profit for us. The eventual winner looks a decent sort and is worth keeping an eye on in future races.

Call Me Betty 20/1 EW – Pontefract 2.02
There is plenty of racing on Tuesday to get tucked into, but for myself personally, I'll only be having a small wager on an outsider from the meeting at Pontefract. On paper, my selection will have to be something decent to be involved in this race, but I did think the odds of 20/1 were possibly generous, particularly in the type of race that can throw up wacky results.
I'll be honest, as much as I prefer the flat to jumps racing, I hate the flat at this time of year. Studying form from the previous season can only get you so far, as you will get horses who showed very little last season taking massive steps forward into their three-year-old careers. You also enter the unknown, particularly in races like this, where you have a handful of newcomers who are yet to be seen on a race course. From a punting angle, it is easy to get carried away, and I'd advise keeping your stakes on the lower end until the flat season properly kicks into gear.
I will be surprised if your winner doesn't come from the first three in the market, and although the Richard Fahey runner is strong in the market at odds on, I still couldn't separate them that much to justify him being that short in the market. After analysing the form of the first three, I actually thought the Easterby runner was the better bet of the three, with that one in receipt of 7lb and arguably bringing the better form to the table from his two-year-old campaign. With that said, I opted to swerve all three and hope that Call Me Betty can run a big race on debut for Michael Dods.
The Michael Dods stable isn't exactly firing at present, but I did think his newcomer Call Me Betty was of interest. Being the only filly in the lineup, she has the advantage of receiving plenty of weight from the remainder of the field. Furthermore, trainer Michael Dods has a good record in this race, winning two of the last three runnings, which included winning it with a 9/1 debutante. Call Me Betty on paper is quite nicely bred and is notably a half sister to two decent sprinters. My selection does have to overcome a wide draw, which is never ideal, but if Connor Beasley can break well from the stalls and get a handy position, you just never know.
