When last in action, it was another close one as Profit Street outran his price-tag and then some, going close in second. After a few days off, with the Nap dropping down to three days per week for the time being, we’re back at it on Tuesday.

8/1 |
Ahead of Tuesday’s action, I’m interested in the second race at Southwell, an interesting little nursery over seven furlongs.
At early odds of 8/1 (bet365), Seed Investor looks like a decent bet having stepped forward to run well when last seen in a race won by his stable mate at Catterick, who has since gone on to bigger and better things.
Has what appears to be a more realistic assignment on all-weather debut
There are a few things that I like regarding the last run of this thrice-raced two-year-old. First and perhaps foremost, he wasn’t far away from a winner that has since gone on to run well in a Class 5 handicap from a mark of 75, which given that the highest rated runner here goes from a mark of 65, is a clear positive as far as I’m concerned.
Secondly, Craig Lidster’s gelding had a runner in behind in that Catterick race that has since gone on to win a Class 5 handicap over this trip at Wolverhampton. Again, such form is a clear plus.
Certainly not negative either is the fact that the speed rating from his last race, which came around three weeks ago, stands as the best of the bunch here. If he can produce something similar now stepping onto the all-weather, then he likely won’t be far away.
Billy Loughnane looks a decent booking the saddle, while the trainer, though not prolific, is far from a stranger to saddling winners at Southwell.
Having shown plenty of potential last time out, with this looking far from more demanding, I’m not sure this one is quite getting the respect he deserves, leaving me to conclude that early odds of 8/1 are worth taking.
Based on a £10 level-stakes example, the Nap of the Day (after 61 Naps) has a running P/L of +£50.00 (since switching to being published here (10/09/2024) rather than on the ‘Nap of the Day' page).
For those interested, here’s a monthly profit and loss breakdown (again based on a £10 level-stakes example):
September 2024 = +£34.00
October 2024 = +£6.00

Terrible sorry
Seed Investor….I’m not finding any form on the AW. Maybe that’s why it’s odd are that high?
