Tuesday's Lucky 15 tips come from the meetings at Pontefract, Lingfield, and Uttoxeter. Rizzel fancies an old winning selection of his to outrun his price of 16/1.
Cairnzy's Tips
James Webb 6/4 – Pontefract 2.40
James Webb has been a tad frustrating to follow, however, he looks like the horse to beat in what seems an ideal opportunity to get off the mark for trainer Sir Michael Stoute.
He showed glimpses of promise on debut in May when finishing fifth at Nottingham over 1m2. He was then sent of favourite on his following run at Haydock which saw him finish second behind Gilded Water. Gilded Water was sent of favorite for the King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot on his following outing. He finished midpack but he's clearly a horse with ability at that sort of level, so the form of that contest reads quite well.
James Webb then bumped into Midnite Storm from the Kevin Ryan yard who he was no match for in that race but he did only go down by half a length and if able to progress again, he should be able to win this.
All Agleam 7/2 – Lingfield 3.25
I fancy the chances of All Agleam in this race, returning to the track where she gained her only win to date.
She rarely runs a bad race with form figures of 33142 in her previous five outings with her better form coming on the AW. She also carries top weight in this race which is never ideal but she has a good record at this sort of level and should have the measure of this field if turning up in the mood.
Rizzel's Tips
Butler's Brief 16/1 – Uttoxeter 6.05
Though this race is a Class 3, I don't see many horses being able to get involved based on their current form, their tough handicap marks, or their old age. I've fallen on an old winning selection of mine with Butler's Brief who won for me last year when making the trip up to Kelso for the Alistair Ralph yard. This lad is versatile with the ground and is back on is 1lb below his last winning mark. He stays 3m 2f, and with the torrential rain expected to land at Uttoxeter, this could turn into a bit of swamp, thus making it a stamina test. If the deluge of rain does arrive, it will set this race up perfectly for Alistair Ralph's horse, who is a 2x C&D winner, with a win coming off a mark of 120 (2lbs higher than today).
Neigh Botha 7/2 – Uttoxeter 6.35
I put up Neigh Botha last season and he didn't put in the best round of jumping at Exeter, which saw him finish 6th/10. He continued to have a problem with his jumping throughout the back end of last year. However, the winter break and continuous practice over fences back at the Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero yard eventually paid off as he returned to racing with a win under his belt at Southwell last time out. He jumped better that day and won with a fair bit in hand. Today's race will be tougher as he is running off an 8lb higher mark, but he looked like a horse who could easily follow up with that win, and he represents decent odds.
