Cairnzy and Rizzel have selected two horses each for Tuesday's Lucky 15 bet.
As usual, let us know in the comment section who you fancy for Tuesday's racing!
Cairnzy's Tips
Zephlyn 3/1 – Catterick 3.25
Zephlyn is mainly known for his exploits on the artificial surface, winning twice and placing three times since the start of the year. My selection showed at Musselburgh recently that he can be just as good on the turf when losing out by a short head to Philip Kirby's Achamara. Jockey Jason Hart is in the saddle, who rode him to victory twice on the AW during the year. A lb rise for his recent outing seems fair and should go close once more.
Quercus 5/1 – Catterick 4.00
Quercus is no shy horse to Catterick and tends to run very well here with five wins and plenty of placed efforts in 18 visits to the course. Quercus is a previous winner of this contest having won it back in 2021 and can give it another good go for trainer Ann Duffield. The wide draw is a slight concern, especially as he tends to go forward in his races. If Joe Fanning can break well from the stalls and get across to a prominent position, he holds every chance.
Rizzel's Tips
Forever A Diamond 13/2 – Ffos Las 4.15
Spirit Of The Rose will be strongly fancied in this race due to Clive Cox combining up with some big owners in a Class 6 contest. That horse was seen in a better light last time out when finishing second, but he's becoming a bit too short now, and I think there are others in the race who could cause him problems.
Forever A Diamond is dropping back to a slightly shorter trip which should suit him. He was stretched by the mile at Kempton when fading out in the final furlong, and given he put up a decent effort over 7f in a better race at Newbury the time before last I think he has a good chance of stamping his authority.
Ashariba 7/1 – Chelmsford 6.17
Similar comments apply from above to this race as we have a Sir Mark Prescott horse who are always short in the market when they are a 3-year-old and progressing. He put in a very likeable performance and won with plenty in hand last time out, but it doesn't mean he can't be beaten.
I thought David Menuisier's horse, Ashariba held a much better chance than the odds suggested. He has already won twice in his career, and last time out he ran a decent race when going off as favourite, being beaten by a few well-handicapped horses, I think that race will work out very well with the likes of Blake and Midnight Rumble who both look like decent horses. This is first run on the AW but there are AW winners in the pedigree, and I think there is more to come from the offspring of Ribchester.
WHAT IS A LUCKY 15 BET?
A Lucky 15 bet consists of 15 unique bets, covering every possible combination that comes from backing four selections. The 15 bets are broken down like this:
– 1 fourfold accumulator
– 4 trebles, with each treble omitting one of your selections
– 6 doubles, again covering every possible combination
– 4 singles
The attraction of a Lucky 15 is that it offers many more ways to win than a standard accumulator. A Lucky 15 uses both your acca and your singles as well as producing trebles and doubles that reward you for correctly calling 2/4 or 3/4 of your selections. To cover the 15 separate bets, a Lucky 15 uses your stake 15 times. If you were to place £1 on a Lucky 15, you would be staking £15 in total across the various bets.
