Cairnzy hit the crossbar with Rising Force who got chinned on the line, which was awfully painful as he was tipped up at 10/1.
Cairnzy's other selection, Mister Adam didn't manage to land a blow at Dundalk after being popular in the market. There was an upset for that race as the winner was a 33/1 shot and the runner-up was priced up at 22/1.

Montgomery 3/1 – Wincanton 2.55
With Wincanton having an early inspection due to parts of the track being waterlogged, there is a possibility that my selection doesn't run, but whenever I think a meeting isn't going to get the go ahead, it usually does. So with that said, I am going to stick up Montgomery for Thursday's racing.
It is a bit painful going against an old winning selection of mine (Ioupy Collonges) but I think the way that the Venetia Williams yard is firing in the winners again, Montgomery looked the play in this race. Montgomery hasn't fired this season with him being 0/2 and having a PU next to his form from his most recent start, but there are reasons to believe he can bounce back to form in this race. His run last time out was too bad to be true, and I think you've got to go off his runs before. His seasonal reappearance was a decent effort over 3m 4f at Sandown, in a race won by Mr Vango who has since franked the form. He is still on a higher mark than when he last won a race last year but he was progressing nicely last year until the last run of the season, and he is still relatively unexposed at this trip over fences so I think he deserves another chance now he is back over a slightly shorter distance.
Venetia Williams has had six winners in the last fourteen days, so the yard is doing well with their horses. I do rate the Nicholls horse as the main danger, but his horses have their flu jabs in January, and as we've seen so far this month, his stable form has dropped off significantly.
