Coloane certainly outran what was an overly generous price yesterday, staying on well from a mile back, giving the four that finished in front of her first run. A decent effort, but ultimately no dice.

On Thursday, the race of interest is the 16:25 at Yarmouth, where Rocking Ends ticks plenty of boxes, so much so that odds of 17/2 are worth taking advantage of.
Tom Clover’s runner didn’t really get involved over five furlongs at Haydock last time out, but I wouldn’t dismiss him on that basis, with this being a slightly easier race and the step back up to six furlongs looking positive based on several recent efforts.
The mount of Kieran Shoemark, who is one win from one ride on this horse, kept on really well in a stronger race than this at Goodwood on his penultimate start, while he was far from hanging on when winning at Newmarket over five furlongs prior to that.
Has gone close in similar races over this trip
Now above his recent winning mark of 82, the 85-rated runner likely isn’t handicapped out of it. After all, back in 2023, at Windsor, he went close over this trip (and at this level) from a mark of 87, while that recent Goodwood second (also from a mark of 87) is likeable in relation to this contest.
Tom Clover is a trainer who has found some form of late, scoring with 21.43% of his runners in the last fortnight, while Yarmouth is one of the tracks where he’s had the most success over the years.
If we factor in that the four-year-old has some positive form against a couple of these and also consider that two of his three turf wins have come on fast ground, it’s fair to say that odds of 17/2 are well worth taking.
Based on a £10 level-stakes example, the Nap of the Day running profit is -£90 (since switching to being published here rather than on the ‘Nap of the Day' page).
Have you had a winner yet?!
Smart Hero definitely the correct favourite in this race, the least exposed and going in the right direction, should be hard to beat.
I’ll have a play at yours in place market, 11/10 for 4plcs ?
That’ll do for me, thanks Bradley ?
