The results improved yesterday with two winners and a place, I am still slightly disappointed given once again the inclusion of a more obscure selection let us down for a nice return but it was still an OK day to be involved.
It was good to go with my instincts for once and put up Hucklesbrook who proved to be more than up to his task. New Kings Road was a big-priced winner, he went off at 13/2 and won very comfortably meaning we've beat September's best day twice this month already.
Attacanter's Tips
Almarada Prince 5/1 – 15.25 Ayr
Almarada Prince is a horse I put up on my second day here where finishing 7th of 17at Ripon, the trainer Craig Lidster is one I have mentioned quite a lot and it was pleasing to see the season he's had. The same horse is out again today, the price has almost halved but without assessing rivals I am including him as a place banker despite only three places.
He won 3 of his first 4 starts, the last of which on handicap debut running off an effective 80 with a 5lb claim. That was a Class 5, six of his next seven were all in Class 2, with one in a C3. His best run was in June when 2nd of 17 at York off 84, the same mark he is on today now running in a Class 4. The form of that race from a quick inspection is perfectly reasonable with Elmonjed and Media Shooter in behind.
John L Sullivan 10/1 four places – 16.00 Ayr
I put up this horse when not showing anything two starts back over a mile at this track. I actually backed him next time and if anyone wants to watch the replay, you'll understand my frustration, he would have been very short on the exchanges despite finishing 3rd. That was over today's C&D, the only negative being a slight step up in competition, which does at least mean we get a price. He was last off the bridle and deep into the race the jockey wasn't anywhere near as animate
I am willing to take the chance that he will be trying again today and off the back of the run, I don't need to consider anything else, he is chanced.
Howth 8/1 – 20.00 Southwell
Given I concluded this bet with a chancy one, we might as well throw in another one in Howth, he's been badly out of sorts since March when 4th of 13 rated 88 at Newcastle over 2 mile.
That run came off the back of his last win, his only win since 2021, which with no extra places on offer would usually make me move on but he is capable on his day and I'll chance a return to form back over his winning trip. Luke Morris was the winning jockey on him, and takes back over from Tom Marquand today now 2lbs below his win at Wolverhampton.
The trainer form is a slight concern, whilst Marquand, a regular for the trainer is on a potential spare for one of our favourites Marco Botti.
Lenny's Spirit 12/1 four places – 19.00 Southwell
This isn't the type of selection but I do respect the owner/trainer combination on the artificial surface and besides the favourite the race is wide open at the prices for the amount of places on offer.

WHAT IS A LUCKY 15 BET?
A Lucky 15 bet consists of 15 unique bets, covering every possible combination that comes from backing four selections. The 15 bets are broken down like this:
– 1 fourfold accumulator
– 4 trebles, with each treble omitting one of your selections
– 6 doubles, again covering every possible combination
– 4 singles
The attraction of a Lucky 15 is that it offers many more ways to win than a standard accumulator. A Lucky 15 uses both your acca and your singles as well as producing trebles and doubles that reward you for correctly calling 2/4 or 3/4 of your selections. To cover the 15 separate bets, a Lucky 15 uses your stake 15 times. If you were to place £1 on a Lucky 15, you would be staking £15 in total across the various bets.
