Neither of Rizzels two selections were up to much and it was a below par day in the end.
Lonesome Boatman wasn't given the greatest of rides at Clonmel and was an unfortunate faller during the race. I haven't read if the horse survived the incident but it didn't look great at first glance. Knight Of Allen was a drifter before the off and the performance was worthy of the drift as the horse didn't run as expected for connections.

Katate Dori 3/1 – Wincanton 3.45
Trainer Sam Thomas always has a few nice horses in his yard, and Katate Dori is certainly falling into that category late. A switch from hurdling to chasing has sparked Katate Dori into form and with two wins on the bounce already this month, I think this unexposed sort is well worth a chance in this race of landing a quickfire hat trick.
I was impressed with both of his runs this month, in particular, the contest at Exeter on New Years Day which saw Katate Dori floor his rivals by a whopping 11L. Dylan Johnson took over from Sean Quinlan four days later at Chepstow and the horse once more plowed through testing conditions to win by a comfortable six and a half lengths. Dylan Johnson is a worthy operator and his 3lb claim is an added bonus I feel in backing Katate Dori this time around.
Receiving weight all around in this race Katate Dori looks very much unexposed and should be bang there in putting in a similar performance to his previous two outings.
