Saturday was a top day with both of my selections getting the job done to ensure it was a profitable day at the office.
Saturdays are tough at the best of times, but to walk away with two from two is always nice.
Wise Approach did just enough to win by three-quarters of a length, and he did slightly drift in the market, which I was surprised by. Lost Boys was advised at 9/4 and was backed into 5/4. Similar to Wise Approach, he did just enough to win on the line, but ultimately, that's all that matters.
Apologies in advance, but there will be no Lucky 15 thread for Sunday's racing. I'm late getting home due to an oil spill on the roads, and I don't have the time to get it done. Yesterday's Lucky 15 bet saw two horses place, one lose, and one void. The results meant a small loss on our initial stake, but nothing major.
Forever Glamorous 9/4 – Ffos Las 3:05
I can see the thinking behind the current favourite Supreme Diamond; she seemingly took well to the testing conditions at Bath last time out, and if building on that effort she could be tough to beat on her nursery debut.
With that said, I still think you can take her on as she doesn't look completely bulletproof. We only have a field of four so that left me with three horses. Andrew Balding's Storm Flag hasn't shown much, and despite being dropped 2lb in the weights, I still think you can draw a line through that one. The C Hills-trained Proof is an interesting one, particularly at this sort of grade. Still, again, I wasn't exactly taken by her recent performances, and I thought she would be vulnerable to those above her in the market.
Forever Glamorous was the horse that I finally decided on, and I think at 9/4 she is a worthy punt to take on the market principle. She has mainly campaigned over further ( 6f ) but takes a drop in trip for this contest to 5f. My selection has progressed for each of her outings to date, and I thought her most recent outing was a good effort. She travelled for the most part like the best horse in the race and looked to be handling the testing conditions with no issues. She still looked a tad green and wondered a bit under pressure before going down by a neck. Nonetheless, I think she'll improve from the recent run, and being a speedy type, she should hopefully be suited by the drop to 5f.

Morning everyone. Well done to the guys with their winners yesterday. Love to see the headline tips winning.
Little stat worth a share for today. Gary Moore has won the 3.30 at Epsom 4 out of the last 7 years. Giving It OJ runs today for them and should take all the beating. He just won over today’s course and distance a fortnight ago after a 138 day break beating Saligo Bay. Saligo Bay went and won just 2 days later at Chester and even won again yesterday at Market Rasen which was how I spotted this bet for today.
Give It To Me OJ had a similar length break last October and returned in February winning on his second run back from that break.
Took to the track really well for his first try here can only benefit from that experience. Odds were 7-4 when I got on at the early prices but there’s still 11-8 now and I’d still back it at that.
No bet until Thursday unless something jumps out. Harry Derham runner and James Owen has one over fences I’m going to be looking into ( 37% strike rate with his chasers this season). So good luck and hope the guys get another winner at Ffos Las today for everyone
If the above bet was to win I am looking to get on Prince OF The Seas in the 4.30 at Newcastle. Owner Valmont have a 50% strike rate this season with 4 winners from 8 with their 3 year olds on the AW. Valmont have a 32% strike rate on the AW in the past 12 months. They are really shrewd operators in these races.
The gelding operation and the application of a tongue tie have seen him really progress. Only 2lb higher for his win last run. His 3rd at Ascot has had the form franked by the winner and runner up. The runner up runs in the 3.30 at Epsom so worth watching how he gets on.
Ralph Beckett has had 4 winners from his last 10 runners. 2 of them also 3 year olds.
Hoping for maybe 4s as the punters will back Harry Charlton runner so it may drift and I’d happily take half a point win on that , but only if my bet that’s already on wins.
Hopefully something useful for people there!
