The Saturday Lucky 15 went down to a Patent as Boardman was a NR due to Haydock being abandoned halfway through their card. There was a winner from the three which did run when 6/1 Cicero's Gift made a winning return from over a year off the track.
For Sunday's Lucky 15 we have horses running at Chelmsford on the AW, as well as two horses over the jumps with one at Sligo and the other at Market Rasen.
Cairnzy's Tips
Damascus Steel 8/1 – Chelmsford City 2.10
The one I like in this is Damascus Steel for trainer Ed Dunlop and jockey Silvestre De Sousa.
Dunlop holds a decent strike rate at Chelmsford at the moment with four of his last five runners winning at the track. The application of blinkers has seemingly brought out the best of Damascus Steel who comes here with a win, two seconds and a third in his last four runs. With a strong pace on offer in this race, I can see this setting up nicely for Damascus Steel who enjoys making his challenge from off the pace.
Lough Leane 9/2 – Chelmsford City
Lough Leane secured five consecutive victories on the all-weather track after switching to a mile distance earlier this year, increasing his rating from 55 to 75. Following a break, he competed twice on turf, most recently finishing just half a length behind Magic Memories, who was dropping in class on that occasion. Lough Leane is much better on the AW and a return to the artificial surface could see him return to winning ways.
Rizzel's Tips
Flidais 9/2 – Sligo 2.35
Looking at the forecasted odds, I am more than happy to stick up Flidais up for this contest. The horses who are intended to be up at the top of the market don't concern me in the slightest and Flidais could offer some great value. The form from the Kilbeggan handicap hurdle looks like a solid piece of form to follow for this race as the winner went on to win in good style on their next run and is now rated 15lbs higher than when they managed to beat my selection by 1.5L.
The run from last time out at Ballinrobe looks like a good effort as well, as the runner-up has won off a much higher mark over fences since, and the third-placed horse finished second to a Class 1-rated mare on her next start. I did think Bigira could run well in this race as they share a similar form line, with the horse I've just mentioned finishing one placed behind Flidais, but with Sligo expecting some rain, and Bigira's best form coming on quick ground, Flidais got my vote.
Giovanni Change 5/1 – Market Rasen 5.10
I don't think you can call Giovanni Change a course specialist with four wins from twelve runs at the course, but I think he is a dangerous horse to underestimate at his favourite track. I think he will be well-suited to today's conditions, as he is a good horse when running from the front, so with this race being just four runners, I don't think he will get taken on for the lead.
He has been best known for winning races over hurdles, and with four runs over fences to his name, which has seen him finish as runner-up twice, I can see why punters would leave him alone. However, he's running off a career-low mark and despite him being a nine-year-old, I think there's fight left in him, especially off his handicap mark.
His jumping isn't an issue, but I think being allowed to go at his own pace in front will help his jumping, as when he finished second at this track on boxing day, he made one mistake, which came at the final fence when pressure was applied to him. That run came off a mark of 121, so he is a few pounds lower today, and that was over a slightly shorter trip, which saw him running on again at the finish. I think the Greenall & Guerriero horse is beatable, he won nicely at a lower level against 80 and 90-rated horses, but this is a tougher race for him.
WHAT IS A LUCKY 15 BET?
A Lucky 15 bet consists of 15 unique bets, covering every possible combination that comes from backing four selections. The 15 bets are broken down like this:
– 1 fourfold accumulator
– 4 trebles, with each treble omitting one of your selections
– 6 doubles, again covering every possible combination
– 4 singles
The attraction of a Lucky 15 is that it offers many more ways to win than a standard accumulator. A Lucky 15 uses both your acca and your singles as well as producing trebles and doubles that reward you for correctly calling 2/4 or 3/4 of your selections. To cover the 15 separate bets, a Lucky 15 uses your stake 15 times. If you were to place £1 on a Lucky 15, you would be staking £15 in total across the various bets.
Haley turner on Lough leane good luck with that 😂
Any tips for Ayr today , ?
