For the first Lucky 15 of the week, I have decided to go for Saturday as it's a fantastic day of racing and it's something we can hopefully get a big winner from.

Thanksforthehelp 9/2 – Chepstow 2.47
I can't remember if I stuck up Thanksforthehelp on a previous Lucky 15 thread or the main selections thread, but either way, he is making a return for me as I think he is a horse on the verge of winning.
David Pipe's horse ran a decent enough race at Cheltenham when finishing 4th/12 in a Class 2 hurdle, won by a very progressive horse. Thanksforthehelp stayed on when beaten, but I think that shows he prefers a stamina test which might not have been at Cheltenham as the ground was good, but a return to Chepstow where he won his Pertemps qualifier a couple of years ago and a return to a softer surface should see him in a much better light.
He is now only 1lb higher than when winning at this track in February 2023 by 6.5L and looking like a horse who was miles ahead of the handicapper. He should be primed for today's race with two runs already this season and his fitness should be at its peak.
Richmond Lake 11/4 – Aintree 1.32
On his day, Richmond Lake is a very good handicapper at this level, as his seven wins from nineteen runs would suggest, and now he's had a recent run and gets his beloved soft ground he is a major contender at Aintree.
Richmond Lake won this race last year off the same mark he run off today. Last year, the race cut up quite a bit, this year, it doesn't appear to be the strongest of renewals and I would be surprised if any horse is as well handicapped as the Donald McCain horse is, especially on ground this soft as he seems to have flippers when others are running in Timberlands.
Carrying close to top weight isn't as much of a concern as it normally would be for a horse on this ground and I think the odds on offer are more than fair.
Down Memory Lane 5/2 – Sandown 1.50
When it comes to Graded races like this when the Irish come over and take on the British I think we often get bogged down in the hype of the home horse when in reality the Irish raiders are supreme. L'Eau Du Sud is the short-priced favourite for this race, and I think it is easy enough to see why as he has been impressive on his two chase starts to date, especially last time out, but we've seen this happen far too often, especially at the Cheltenham Festival when the Irish horses are overlooked yet they seem to demolish us.
Down Memory Lane is definitely not a mug, he is a very lightly raced horse for the Gordon Elliott stable, who has clearly always had chasing in his eyesight since being bought as a PTP horse. This lad has always had a very good reputation since his PTP win of 9.5L and then he showed that promise when winning on his bumper debut, recording an RPR of 125 and being backed into 5/6F. His campaign over hurdles was short-lived and he was easily put in his place in a Grade 1 last Christmas, but he put that right when returning at Navan in a beginners chase by giving a strong beating to some smart horse like King Of Kingsfield by 7L on his chasing debut.
Montgomery 7/2 – Sandown 3.35
What would it be if I wasn't to stick up a Venetia Williams horse on a big day of racing? Well, that's not going to happen as I like the look of Montgomery for this London National.
Prior to his final start of last season at Ayr's Scottish National Festival he was 3/3 over fences since moving to Venetia's yard and had looked impressive on every start. He relishes the soft ground and looked like a progressive young staying chaser who could relish the longer trips.
He is running off the same mark as he did at Ayr, but that run was evidently a blip as he was not on a going day and I think you can always give a horse a second chance on the back of a terrible performance. If he had put in a better performance but was just beaten because of his handicap mark then you could say the handicapper has caught up with him, but I don't think that's the case.
If you are following, hopefully, I can land you some nice early Christmas money.
