Chatty managed to place at advised odds of 10/1 which gained us some each-way profit, which is better than nothing at all.
Chatty ran another encouraging race, he was ridden aggressively from the front and was one of the last horses of the bridle when entering the final couple of furlongs. He was no match for the eventual winner but is probably a horse to look out for next time out, as he seems to travel well into his races and has the potential to improve further given he is still lightly raced.
Rose Applause 7/4 – Kempton 6:40
My main selection on Wednesday is the Simon & Ed Crisford-trained Rose Applause.
My selection ran encouraging on debut when finishing third at Newcastle in November last year. I checked out the form of the debut run to see if there was any substance to it and I was glad to see that multiple horses have come out and win races from it. The second won the next time out, the fourth has won twice since and now has an OR of 94, and the fifth-placed has also come out and won since.
Rose Applause improved from her debut run to comfortably win at Wolverhampton three weeks later, leading from start to finish and pulling away from the field within the final couple of furlongs. She hit the line hard that day, leaving the impression she had plenty left in the tank.
Rosa Applause easily overcame a penalty in her comeback race at Lingfield last month after a five-month break and can make it three wins on the bounce in this contest under jockey William Buick. She goes handicapping of a mark of 85, which I think underestimates her ability, and with a handy draw in stall one, she should go well.
Inherit 4/1 – Yarmouth 2:30
I was originally going to leave this race alone but I've decided last minute to have a small play on Sir Michael Stoutes Inherit.
I don't have much to go on in terms of form in this contest which is why I'm advising small stakes. Most of the field are having their first outing or have only had one or two runs to date, which makes it a bit of a minefield on paper.
Trainer Sir Michael Stoute runs two in this contest and both are beautifully bred in their own right. Inherit is one of the few horses in this contest who has a run under the belt and experience more times than most can prove key in these sorts of races. Jockey Ryan Moore takes the ride on my selection and you can only assume on that basis that Inherit is the more fancied horse from the two that run for Sir Michael Stoute.
Despite finishing seventh on debut, my selection showed glimpses of promise on that occasion and looks the sort who will improve further this year. The debut run at Sandown now reads well with multiple horses coming out and winning on their following runs. The second, third, fifth and sixth have all since come out and won while the eventual winner Classical Song who was ridden by Ryan Moore that day has since finished third in a Group 3 at York behind Secret Satire and Francophone.

Churchill Downs -Race. 8…Salute The Stars 11/4. **** Bet365 (2/1 most others)
Thought this horse been put out to pasture but 277 days off after an attempt on Turf in a G3 by the owners that that failed.
Back on dirt he contested a G1 coming home around 10L behind some cracking horses and before that beat Kingsbarns in a 200K Stakes – that horse had time off then went on to win a G3 then 2nd in G2 . Salue The Stars back on should be winning this but there are some decent types in it with 3 from my tracker. Classic Catch looks biggest danger
Only 8th run and not sure why the lay off but he’s won much better races than this .
