King's Lynn let me down again as he finished third at Newcastle as my only selection on Sunday.
Oisin Murphy had a five-timer on the card at Newcastle on Sunday, and to pick one of the horses he didn't win on made it even more frustrating. King's Lynn travelled well during the race but lacked that turn of foot he once showed earlier in his career.
Windsor and Hereford is where I've gone hunting for a winner and I've two horses who hopefully do the job on Monday for us.
Federal Envoy 9/1 EW – Windsor 18:05
Some of you may remember me tipping Federal Envoy on the thread within my first week of taking over from Rizz. He let me down on the day but I'm willing to give him another chance in this contest.
On his previous run at Pontefract, Federal Envoy looked to have the race in the bag as he entered the final furlong or so. He was trading as short as 1/5 in play but suddenly he hung drastically to the right, throwing away any chance of winning. That was his first run on turf having only run on the AW previous to that run. The ground conditions at Pontefract that day were also extremely testing, so I'm happy enough to draw a line through that run.
Previous to his Pontefract effort he was a narrow winner on debut at Southwell when getting the better of Jayyash from the J&T Gosden yard. Jaayash was highly fancied in the market that day and ran well in defeat on his last outing when beaten by a decent enough operator from the Richard Hannon yard in Mr Baloo.
Trainer Karl Burke has added cheek pieces tomorrow which should hopefully help with any greenness etc. 9/1 looks a decent each-way play in this wide-open contest.
Lightfoot Lady 3/1 – Hereford 14:30
Paddy De Pole is a short-money favourite in this contest as he attempts to land the hat-trick but I think he's worth taking on with Lightfoot Lady, who looks a better alternative at the current prices.
My selection was successful on her debut at Stratford in March back in 2022. She then spent 452 days off the track before contesting in a class four hurdles contest at Worchester on good ground which saw her being pulled up by jockey Nico De Boinville.
I never watched the race live but after catching a replay, I thought Lightfoot Lady was travelling well throughout the race. She was bang there in contention with the eventual winner Manimole but after jumping the third-last she lost her action and was immediately pulled up.
It was then reported that Lightfoot Lady lost a shoe in that contest, which would have played a massive factor in the outcome of that race.
The form of the Worchester run is quite strong as Manimole who won on the day has since gone on to win three races, one of which was in Listed company. The trio of wins has seen Manimole rated at 119 so he is obviously a decent horse over obstacles.
Lightfoot Lady then had wind surgery before contesting in a mares novice hurdle at Huntington which saw her finish fifth behind Dysart Enos. It's hard to judge the form of that run as she was beaten by a whooping 20L that day but Dysart Enos remains unbeaten since finishing second on debut and is now rated 131.
My selection then ran most recently in a class 4 novice hurdle at Doncaster, finishing third, 9L of the winner Personal Ambition and just over a length behind Inoui Machin who finished second. The form of that race has worked out well, Personal Ambition has since won a Grade 2 on his next start while Inoui Machin has gone on to win twice.
2-00 Hereford
Locken lad or backinaction to win 100-30 bet365.
Hoping the 1-4 favourite fluffs his lines, looks too short carrying a stone more at 1-4 odds
Ignore the above
Bet365 goes 3-1 pyffo not to win which gives me the whole field in case it fluffs his lines 😁

Fury road 15-8 top 3 finish BETFRED
Needs one to not complete as there are only 4 runners on recent form, did have form a while back that would make this an odds on bet like when beating vanillier and fighter allen just 18 months ago 😂
and
Fury road 12-1 betting without gentleman de mee and ash tree meadow BET365. Smaller
as there are only 4 runners this is in essence a matchbet between fury road and french dynamite so at those odds worth a couple of quid
Bet mgm and bet UK whoever they are have fury road 14-5 top 3 finish, was tempted to start an account with them to take advantage lol.
Now down to 13-8 at BETFRED by the way.
I never want a horse to fall obviously but it would be nice if one of the other 3 pulled up or unseat the rider
