Racing Tips – Sanitiser Looks Poised To Strike At Hereford

Charlie Mason was my sole selection yesterday and he won at advised odds of 10/3.

There's nothing sweeter than when a race plans out exactly how you imagined It would. My selection fluffed the start and Rossa Ryan had to push him forward to settle him in mid-pack. The extra half a furlong worked as I expected, as he stayed on best of all to win by two and a quarter lengths.

I've two selections for Tuesday before we get stuck into the flat racing at Chester on Wednesday.

Sanitiser 15/8 – Hereford 18:00

Sanister is more known for his time on the flat when performing well for trainers P&O Cole in 2022. He ran to an OR of 92 in his prime, winning and placing in some decent class 3 events over 1m-1m2f. He then switched hands to Archie Watson who campaigned him over hurdles. He only made four appearances for Archie Watson before switching yards again to Gary Moore in October last year.

It sometimes takes a switch of stables to spark a horse back into form and I feel my selection has shown enough in his short time with Gary Moore to suggest he’s capable of winning a handicap hurdle from his current low mark.

Sanitiser caught the eye on his penultimate outing when finishing fourth at Kempton in November last year. He was held up off the pace that day and made some nice headway around the outside. He fluffed the last and was unable to land a blow in the final furlong or so.

He then went one better when finishing third at the same venue on his return to action a couple of weeks ago. Similar to his fourth-placed effort, Sanitiser looked like a big threat when angled out wide to make his effort two from home but didn't stay the trip as well as the eventual winner. That looked like a tougher race on paper than he contests here and with a recent run now under his belt, he looks poised to take advantage of his low mark.

Planned Paradise 3/1 – Fakenham 4:20

I like Planned Paradise for trainer Christain Williams in this race. My selection is now rated 5lb lower than his last winning mark and the booking of champion jockey Harry Cobden ( Never rode for Christain Williams before ) was another eye-catching factor for me when choosing this horse as a selection.

It's been a while since Planned Paradise got his head in front, June 2022 being the last time he was seen in the winners' enclosure. He's a horse who relishes these long-distance races. Neil Mulholland originally trained him before changing hands to Christain Williams In April of last year. He's yet to race over further than 3m2f for Christain Williams which I thought was strange but I think this race has been the aim as he recently ran him over 2m4 on his first outing of this year which I assume was to blow away any cobwebs for this contest.

His second In the London National over 3m5f behind Quick Wave is a key piece of form given Quickwave went on to land the Haydock's Grand National Trial off an 8lb higher mark. Planned Paradise also finished third in last year's Highland National over 3m6½f behind Silver In Disguise and If Not For Dylan. He comes here now rated 9lb lower for that effort.
