Frere D'Armes had no excuses at Ascot. He was positioned nicely behind the leader but didn't have the turn of foot nor the minerals to get to the winner. It's quite painful to see Martator win again given he has been a losing selection on this page three times this year.
Huntingdon 2:05 – Hokelami 2/1 (1pt, Bet365)
Hokelami was a tip of mine on chase debut at Market Rasen a few months ago, and how it usually goes, he was horrendous but then went on to win on his next start when not tipped up. He has since won again and seems like a horse who is still on a good mark so can make it three wins for the season and a second in a row.
He is carrying 12st for today's race which isn't ideal, but this race doesn't look like a very competitive race with maybe one or two horses in the race who could potentially put in a challenge, but the way Hokelami has been winning his races you'd like to think that he has a fair bit in hand off his current mark of 100. The yard is in good form with two wins in the last fortnight and given he is unbeaten at this trip over fences, I would be surprised if he wasn't good enough to get another win on the board off just an 8lb higher rating.
Huntingdon 4:35 – Samuel Spade 3/1 (1pt, Bet365)
For my second selection of the day I have got another top weight carrier (well not really with the 5lb claimer on board) with Samuel Spade.
Running off a mark of 117 with Beau Morgan's 5lb claim makes Samuel Spade being able to race below his last winning mark of 118 which came in December in a Class 3 contest at Taunton. He won with a bit more authority than the winning margin of 2L would suggest and though he has been fairly poor since, there are reasons to believe that he'll bounce back to form today. He has been racing in better races the last two times, the first was in the Lanzarote Hurdles (Class 2, 52k prize) and the other was in an 11k prize Class 3 race, which was still a step up in class compared to his 7k prize Class 3 winning race at Taunton. Today's race is a 0-120 and most of the horses are turning up out out of form, so even off a heavy weight he should have too much class for this field.
Ryan’s Rocket 2.50 Taunton tomorrow
Morning, hope everyone is well. Just thought id share a bet tomorrow I’ll very likely be on. Could be some useful pointers/stats incase anyone else had been looking at this race.
Get a watch of his last run. Travelled superbly and jumped really well for a novice Bizzarly he went off at 50/1 for that even though it was widely reported he had run too free on debut for the yard in a bumper at Newbury. Cost a fair bit at the sales, I’m sure he went for about 150k.
The horse that beat him at Taunton, Fiercely Proud, was a previous listed winner in a bumper. And since that run at Taunton he has run in two grade 2 races, running very well in both.
The horse finishing 4th, 14 lengths behind Ryan’s Rocket, Geezer Rockstar, just won a class 3 race at Ascot yesterday.
Fegal has been very patient with this one. He gave him a year to strengthen up before running him on his debut. Again they’ve given him 3 months to mature further since his last run. Just thought it was worth mentioning that incase anyone was wondering if he has been injured or anything. Definitely not the case.
Yard have been doing well, 6 wins from their last 25 runners.
Not priced up yet unfortunately. I’m keeping fingers and toes crossed the layers will be generous. He’s surely going to go very close tomorrow. If he jumps and travels like his last run there’ll only be one winner that’s for sure.
All the best today and for the rest of the week with your own bets gents.
At least you aren’t claiming to have an inside track from the stable this time Dean. That kinda stuff costs people money, so think twice eh!!
4/6 sod that rather take a chance on the dogs ?
Maybe the idea is to get the price even shorter by posting here while he backs another in the race.
Oooooh I like a good ole conspiracy theory

Word on Kachima at 17/2 in Will Rodgers Downs Race 8
??
Somehow I’ve only just noticed that Kachima beat the current favourite Dicey who’s currently 5/2 in a 40K Stakes race last November. Makes me more confident the price is all wrong.
He a hell of a lot lighter raced, gets a 2lb pull at the weights and most these horses are coming off a break or stepping up in class as Kachima is BUT looks best placed of them to take it in his stride ..as they say.
