Both of yesterday's selections finished second which was disappointing as I felt we should have come away with at least one winning selection.
Planned Paradise looked like he was caught off guard as the eventual winner upped the pace and went for home. He stayed on towards the line but was given too much to do In the end. It was a great ride by jockey Dylan Whelan and I can't complain about the outcome.
Sanitiser also finished second and has now gone one better in each of his last three runs. It's frustrating as I know the horse can win at that sort of level but It wasn't to be in that particular contest. I'll maybe give him another chance on his next outing but I'll cross that bridge when the time comes.
Wednesday sees the start of the flat meeting from Chester and only one horse sticks out to me as a bet. I don't advise getting too involved with the racing at Chester tomorrow as from looking through the card most of the races look complete guessing games
Hidden Law 9/4 – Chester 3:40
I think the short-priced A P O'Brien runner Grosvenor Square is worth taking on this race with Hidden Law who looks like a decent alternative at a better price. We all know that It's only a matter of time before the O'Brien-yard hit form but I would be a bit hesitant at backing any of his runners at present given the stables' current form.
Hidden Law was the horse who caught my eye when making an encouraging start to his racing career when finishing runner-up to Cadogan Palace at Southwell. He was only beaten by a short head that day and is priced up to reverse that form as Cadogan Palce also contests in this race. I was impressed with his debut run as he was off the bridle before Cadogan Palace and made up some good ground with a nice turn of foot to challenge him right to the wire.
My selection then went one better when winning at Newbury last month. I was even more impressed with his second outing, he travelled beautifully throughout the entire race and when William Buick asked him to go seal the deal he scooted clear with ease to win by over five lengths.
This race of course requires more as It's at group three level but Hidden Law is open to further improvement and I can understand why connections are giving it a go with him here.

Finished a neck 2nd and well clear of the rest in a class 1 juvenile hurdle handicap hurdle last time beaten by an Irish raider from Henry bromheads yard and this is a class 2 handicap.
The winner of that race emotivo finished ahead of therapist the race before that and that one won yesterday at southwell
Goes best on good ground like she had last time and is the ground for today.
Runs off just 10-2 and the claimer takes off another 7lb which means she is out of the handicap but horses do win from outside the handicap on occasion.
She was running from outside the handicap in the race I mentioned above off the same terms as today.
Trainer and stable jockey have a more fancied runner in storm belle but that one’s form doesn’t look any stronger on their recent runs.
A wave of the sea 4-20 kelso
25-1 ew 4 places SKYBET
16-1 ew extra 5 places.
Had some decent graded form for Joseph O’Brien a couple of years ago and not done much for new trainer Brian haslam as yet.
He has a knack of rejuvenating such horses though and he’s only 8 so maybe this drop in class could see an improvement ??
Windsor avenue 5-25 kelso
6-5 top 2 finish betuk
Short price but looks sound to me.
Go on chez probably wins but on a line through jerrysback he should beat shanroe street for 2nd place

I’m off work on the old sick note this week bus.
Thinking of going on Friday myself mostly because my next door neighbour is looking to fill his car,
have to be centre course as I know some of our managers are in the tatts all week.
Don’t really like Chester races, too many non racing people go screaming and shouting, half dressed slags throwing drinks everywhere as their high heeled shoes get stuck in potholes ??.
Give me a damp Wednesday in Ludlow any day of the week ?

Grosvenor square or agenda to win 11-8 bet365 (boost price from 4-5). NAP ?
Grosvenor square if fit has the best form in this race but there are always doubts about O’Brien’s seasonal debutants so you get 2 for the price of one here.
I would be on Grosvenor at 2-1 if I hadn’t seen this bet.
Cadogan place beat hidden law as they fought out a class 5 on the southwell sand 6 weeks ago and doesn’t look like form good enough to win this
Hidden Law wins at the advised price of 9/4, looks like a real nice horse going forward.
The ole laptop is due for an update, not sure how long It will take but will do my best to have selections up before 9pm.
Thanks
Cairnzy Hidden law broke down just after the finishing line sadly it was a fatal injury.
@Deb2000
I had no idea until I saw your message. Very sad indeed, the horse looked a really nice type. Not sure If you watched the race but looked really impressive.
The downfall to horse racing..
Thanks for the input.
Yeh the horse won well just after the line crossing 1 of the paths he took a false step you could see it was a break ??then cameras came of it straight away.
