COURSE form is often a vital tool at Epsom and CROSSED BATON (3.55) won the feature Investec Blue Riband Trial on this card 12 months ago under Frankie Dettori.
John Gosden's colt went on to run second to Hunting Horn in the Hampton Court Stakes at Royal Ascot but a couple of disappointing efforts subsequently resulted in a wind operation. Crossed Baton has always gone well fresh and is a value alternative to Mildenberger.
Mark Johnston's top weight could prove to be a snip stepping into handicap company on the back of his Dante Stakes second to Roaring Lion at York. He could well jump out and make all from stall one but if he doesn't get to the front, the inside is often not the place to be, with runners edging down the camber under pressure and intimidating rail runners.
Gosden and Dettori have won the last four renewals of the Blue Riband Trial and they rely on TURGENEV (2.45) to make it a nap hand. Turgenev disappointed behind King Ottokar on his return at Newbury but seemed to get bogged down on the sticky ground. He will need to step up to the plate but represents a bit of each-way value against market leaders Cape Of Good Hope and Arthur Kitt.
Some firms are offering four places in the 1m 4f Investec Great Metropolitan Handicap, with course and distance winner EDDYSTONE ROCK (3.20) bidding to add to his recent Leicester success on quick ground. A 3lb rise isn't onerous and James Doyle is an eye-catching booking.
At much shorter odds, CURRENT OPTION (4.25) should mop up the one-mile Novice Stakes for William Haggas as he paid the penalty for going off too fast on soft ground when beaten by Good Birthday at Newbury.
Perth's three-day fixture kicks off on ground officially described as good. The track is notorious for over-zealous watering and GO ANOTHER ONE (3.00) wouldn't want any rain as all his best form is on a sound surface. However, he has improved leaps and bounds for John McConnell and his second to Canardier at Cheltenham in October has turned out to be top-drawer form.

Plenty of jumps action today but a lot of short priced odds on shots I like and have covered. But no value in them as picks on here.

Awful, just awful!
Thanks to Postman n Elvis for your NAPs. ?
bit deflated after yesterday, at one point was looking like a big day, been on a good run so refused all the cash out offers and left a decent amount in the hands of the bookies. small profit was made but needing a break from the glare of my PC, i will hopefully be back later for the night racing.
just going to chance IMPERIAL ELIXIR 9/1 and RUBENESQUE 5/1 with monumentally small singles and then to place they are 11/8 shots which will do me. BOL.
A great sit from Paddy B on Imperial Elixir but it seemed to take it out of the horse, did travel nicely after huge mistake and wouldve no doubt placed, will keep an eye on him for next time. Rubenesque comes 2nd after kicking early.
Well done postman and elvis yet again

well done all winners yesterday
Collected on four of the five selections I put up yesterday. Lots of very short priced stuff over several of the cards today.
Noticed that Richard Johnson heads up to Perth again for three rides for Gordon Elliott and one for John McConnell.
Johnson still needs 5 more winners before Saturday for the 200 winners for the season so his rides could be worth following.
My Selections Today:
3:20 Epsom – Soto Sizzler (NAP)
3:45 Fontwell – Stowaway Magic (NB)
3:55 – Epsom – Mildenberger
7:30 Taunton – Ourmullion
Good Luck with your own selections

Racing UK is £25 a month, ATR is £10 a month, I thought ATR got a lot more coverage in terms of live racing – not too fussed about anything else other than this and therefore seems the much better buy, can anyone shed light on this? I don’t mind a tenner but don’t think i’d stretch to the 25.. thanks.
ATR is now Sky racing so comes with the sports package, sadly they lost all the Irish racing last year so don’t cover as much now
yeah I did notice that but I think it is nothing more than just a name change as SKY want everything under their own brand I assume.
as for Irish racing, that isn’t an issue as I find it far too much of a minefield betting wise. I just googled the tracks they cover and it seems OK, for a tenner probably best get it for a month and make my own mind up, cheers.
Costs nothing on the Internet, only bet a £1 at SKYBET or 50p Bet365 per race you can watch as many as you like.
mildenburgh for 2800 from 50, cash out 600, but had tricast and eddy to place in SOTO’s race which means i am up a couple so i think i have to let it ride, LETS HAVE THIS MARKY JOHNSON!
you would think i would leave, EVERY TIME the big FAV disappoints, disgusting.

JUST CALL ME AL, one for next time depending on what rise he gets and whether he gets another 10lb claimer etc.. he just had the race locked up and the jockey absolutely made a mockery of the last and didnt press early enough, shame.
he is 9 years old, up against horses 4 and 5 but RED ALL STAR in the 840 at DUNDALK, after analysing ONE RACE, where he and the 2 market leaders came in 1 2 3, he is 8lbs better off with fav BELLICK for 1.5 lengths and 9lbs better off than 2nd fav TYNAMITE, he is a 12/1 shot and he already beat BELLICK when 15lbs better off and BIG SEAN FOLEY is back on BELLICK, so that puts me off slightly for win purposes but I am going to be investing OTN and ew and to place.
