It's always nice when you back a horse who let you down previously and they win for you next time around.
Yes Day was a confident selection of mine at Exeter in the Devon National, but he was extremely weak in the market throughout the day which was very strange and slightly offputting.
He was advised at 2/1, went to around 6/4 when there were multiple non-runners, but then drifted out to 10/3 and won going away at the finish.
Unfortunately, if you backed Yes Day the night before, you would've been whacked by a 35p rule 4 which dampened the returns, but a win is a win and we move onto the new week.

Somespring Special 5/2 – Wincanton 4.30
This four-runner field is a tricky race as it all depends on if Jaramillo can improve on his chasing debut and whether Pepe Le Moko can return to form after showing very little this season. Even though my fancy, Somespring Special is also out of form, if the switch to Philip Hobbs & Johnson White's stable has freshened him up she is on a decent handicap mark and is worth the punt.
Jaramillo was third on his chase debut, 10L behind the winner. The form doesn't look particularly strong if you can look past the winner. The winner hasn't won since but has gone up in the handicap and has contested stronger races, but the others in and around Jaramillo haven't done much. He could improve for the experience and might get a soft lead on the front end, but it wasn't exactly a performance which suggested he's on a very good handicap mark.
Somespring Special has done much of her winning over shorter trips, but she clearly stays this distance, as she was a PTP winner over 3m a couple of years ago. She enjoys the good ground and has won off similar handicaps in the past when trained by Anthony Honeyball.
His form for Anthony and then her recent trainer Chris Gordon hasn't been great, but the switch to a new stable can often relight the fire for a horse and coming to this stable in particular looks like a good thing to do as they have been firing on all cylinders in recent months and continue to be in hot form, with 6 winners in the last fortnight.
She has to prove her fitness as we haven't seen him since last July, but you'd expect him to be in good condition with the stable flying.
