Rizz bounced back to form on Sunday, getting the Christmas period off to a flyer by landing a handsome double in the shape of Morning Air and Jumper Madrik.

Both selections won cozily in the end under cool rides by Charlie Deutsch and Richie McLernon and if you doubled on the two selections the double paid 20/1.

Jumper Madrik was a massive drifter in the market, going off at double the price before the off. If you managed to get the best odds on the selections then you were laughing as the double would have returned around 38/1. A nice return indeed and just in time for Santa coming!

Not much caught my eye on Monday, so I'll be keeping it simple with just the sole selection, which comes from the meeting at Plumpton.

Cairnzy's Tips

Fromheretoeternity 13/8 – Plumpton 1.20

The talk seemingly surrounds the William Greatex charge Korus, who remains open to plenty of improvement after only three runs. Korus was a real eye-catcher last time out when going down by a neck to Kally Des Bruyeres at Huntingdon last month. Korus made up some nice headway from the rear when doing most of her best work late on. Unfortunately, the line came too soon and she had to play second fiddle on that occasion. Regardless of the above, I've slight concerns regarding the form of that contest, the winner was a shock 200/1 winner that day and is yet to run since and the form of her previous two outings is hardly flattering either.

I've decided to go down the safer option with Fromheretoeternity, well it at least looks the safer option on paper anyway…

Trained by Jennie Candlish, Fromheretoeternity has been in great form the last few months, recording two wins and a placed effort in her last three outings. Notably, her two wins came over this distance, while her placed effort came over 2m4 which she found a stretch too far last time out at Newcastle. My selections drops back down in trip for this contest, and even with a double penalty she should go close in what looks an ideal opportunity to get back to winning ways. Gavin Sheehan has been booked to take the ride ahead of Sean Quinlan and I've mentioned before on how much I rate Gavin Sheehan as a jockey. Jennie Candlish had not a bad month in November, operating at a strike rate of 22%. Of course, her month was topped up with her winning machine Skyjack Hijack landing the six-timer during the weekend.

Catch 22 for the club in terms of whether to pull the plug on Dyche now or wait a little longer.

If you sack him off now and bring in a new manager then you are setting him up to fail with that run of fixtures. Then you’ve the other side of the coin, you leave it till January and we are sat in bottom three with a possible gap to claw back out off.

Dyche’s squads have never been nice to watch, however they’ve have a tendacy in the past of being hard to break down with counter attacking football and set pieces being the main factors in terms of trying to score goals. Unfortunately I’m struggling to see neither of that, especially in the goal scoring front where we’ve failed to score a single goal in our last 4 games, one of which came against 10 men Brentford at home and another against assuminly already relegated Southampton.

Of course you can’t blame Dyche completely, the games that we have created multiple chances, the strength up top is piss poor and it’s not his fault DCL or Beto couldn’t hit a barn door. That’s poor transfer policy which of course has been at the forefront of this clubs problems for as long as I can remember. Fiddled about over a few million here and there on certain players and have taken the cheaper alternative which has set us back even further.

Wolves midweek is a six pointer and unless we see a win and respectable performance against the kopites then I struggle to see Dyche in dugout before the end of the Christmas period.

My go to which is an obvious risk would be Jose Mourinho but you’ve no chance of landing him in mid season and even then you would have to say it’s a huge risk as he has no real experience of pulling shite squads out from danger. Then again, a bigger name in the dugout on top of going into a spanking new stadium will attract bigger names if somehow this take over goes ahead and we see some money spent.

If he stays you will get enough 1-0 wins to escape again.
After that it depends on what you can spend to determine the calibre of the new manager.
No way will mourinho go there without a huge kitty to spend as he’s certainly no fire fighter manager.
Like you say wolves is huge, this is the sort of game you will win 1-0 then a standard defeat to Liverpool.
1-0 Everton with a first half beto goal

Jose is no fire fighting manager by any sort of means but I did catch a recent interview and he mentioned about if he came back to premier league it would be to manage a bottom half side. I think if we manage to avoid the drop and the take over goes through then he could be given a few quid to spend.

Big names attract better players which was proven under Carlos short reign. Carlo didn’t bring in outstanding players, however, James Rodriguez was a statement signing and he played well for us in his sort time. Allan was another from Napoli who had a good season. Unfortunately 20m now a days get yous a bang average footballer.

Moyes was another possible name in the hat, a reappointment of moyes would probably go 50/50 with the fans but his nack of finding gems in the market is definitely one of his greater assets. Arteta Pienaar Baines Cahill to name a few.

You are right though, you’d like to think they’ve enough to avoid the drop again, but another season of hoping there’s 3 worse teams will put me in an early grave!

A good win for your lot I guess, although yous looked proper ropey first 25min and a more clinical side could have been 2 up.. school boy defending and the game was done before we knew it.. football for ya!

Good luck tomorrow I’m off to bed 🫡

Jessie Lightfoot 2-20 Plumpton 13-8 top 2 finish at SKYBET. NAP…🏇

If it runs as well as in it’s last race a class 3 at Cheltenham (this is class 4) it could even win.
With the claimers 7 pound it drops to 10 stone 9 meaning it gets at least a stone off the rest.
Also won for this trainer in December 2022.
Moved briefly to Evan Williams but back home now

      Followango 12-35 ffos las.
      8-1 ew 3 places Betfred.
      11-4 top 2 finish SKYBET.

Followango had been consistent in hurdles and won his bumper here.
Unseated in chase last time, back to hurdling today .
Top 2 in the market look to have more potential so hoping one of them fluffs their lines

🏇Double your dough (if he can jump fences of course)

Lafayette 11-23 cagnes sur mer 🇫🇷.
      EVENS top 2 finish bet365.

2-1 for the win but I’ll take the EVENS.

Has the best form of these over hurdles finishing 3rd in a grade 3 last time out.
Debuts over fences which is an unknown of course but trainer David cottin specialises in chasers and cross country runners.

Also with the claimers 7 pound allowance he gets over a stone off the other principles here.
Like I say if he jumps fences shouldn’t be far away.

Putting this here now in case his price drops.
And in case there are non runners in the morning meaning the price may drop anyhow
