Rizz had a few things come up during the day and as a result, can not post his selections for Friday's racing. The Lucky 15 thread will also be on standby until Rizz returns tomorrow, for those who are interested and enjoy that side of things.
Dashing Donkey was extremely disappointing yesterday, and although I'm not Shoemarks biggest fan, I don't think he was to blame for such a below-par performance.
Rizzel's horses didn't perform on the track either. Galen was smashed off the boards into 6/5F and did manage to grab the lead, but his efforts folded tamely with just over a furlong to travel. Clover Time was in trouble when the race started to heat up. He wasn't travelling as well as we expected and got boxed in and when that happened the horse didn't want anything to do with that and backed out and Rossa rode a quiet finish to look at the juvenile.
Cairnzy's tips
Dashing Dick 4/1 – Newmarket 7.10
My first selection comes in a tricky 6f handicap race at Newmarket. Not a lot separates those towards the head of the market, with my selection Dashing Dick shading favouritism at 4/1.
My selection is the only horse in the lineup who brings last time out winning form to the table, and I'll be honest, I was impressed with how this lad went about his business at this course last time out, winning with the minimum of fuss by three and a half lengths. The form of that particular race could hardly look any better. The runner-up Waleefy has won since and is up to a mark of 87, while the third and fourth have run with credit since, both finishing runner-up in their following outings. Faro De San who placed back in sixth has also gone on to win next time out.
A 7lb rise for my selection's recent win puts him on a career-high mark, which of course will demand that little bit more from him in this contest, but the manner in which he won last time out suggests to me that this mark is well within his reach. I had a quick look back at Dashing Dicks career and was pleased to see that my selection has actually run well of marks in the high 70s in the past, which would be another indicator to suggest that a mark of 80 is well within his reach.
Vicario 9/4 – Haydock 6.50
Connections involved with Vicario are probably a tad frustrated their filly still remains a maiden after six runs, especially given she's played second fiddle on four occasions already, but she at least has remained competitive and I think this contest represents a good opportunity for this three-year-old to finally get her head in front.
Looking back at those runner-up efforts, on paper it appears she simply bumped into an above-average sort on the day. She finished behind Eve Johnson's Rolica who has since run well at Group level. She finished behind the P&O Cole-trained Eleftheria who has improved further since getting the better of my selection at Chelmsford and has recently placed a length and a half behind Francophone in a class three and has also won her most recent outing at Kempton in a class four handicap. Devoted Queen who beat my selection by just over two lengths has also gone on to win at Listed level.
My selection drops back to 6f for this contest, which looks a good move by connections given how strongly Vicario has been travelling throughout her races over 7f. I caught a few replays of her recent races, and as much as she travels strongly, it appears in the final furlong she struggles to see the race out. Dropping back to 6f should hopefully allow her to get her head in front, and Oisin Murphy is an eye-catching jockey booking to take the ride.
🇺🇸 Yankee Doodle Dandy and 2x singles, one I really like at Woodbine 🇨🇦
Del Mar – Race 6…It’s My World 7/2 **+
Race 8…Baby Kirsten 2/1
Kashuki Kimura stays on board bidding for a hat trick with slight weight allowance
Race 8…Capital Outlaw 6/4
Woodbine -Race 8…Motorin Maggie 3/1 ***** Coral
Favourite is out but still get 3/1 and best horse anyway for me with more improvement to come. Has improved without winning in his last 2 runs while moving up in grade but stays in same grade here to hopefully break his maiden.
It’s a noticeable jockey booking with Rafael Hernandez who usually rides at Saratoga and Del Mar etc but with Kimura he’s been winning at 67% with 7 from 14 last 10 days so he’s loving Canada eh?

Checked the forecast so unlike last night there shouldn’t be much change with tracks from ‘off Turf’ to dirt and only the 1st is Turf anyway before any showers might do damage.
Too many horses pi$$ on the track in Florida it’s ’off Turf’ 🙄
A f@cking nonsense not a drop of rain in Florida and Race 1 STILL goes Off Turf’. Would have cashed my bet but no choice with Coral and tbf still went if fav but never liked it’s dirt training.
