It was a tough Saturday with all three selections losing on the day.
Charyn was the only selection who ran with any credit. It was a strange race, both Inspiral and Big Rock who headed the market, ran well below expectations. The race was eventually won by Audience, who was sent off at 22/1.
I head to Newmarket for my sole selection on Sunday.
Mahboob – 15/8 – Newmarket 4:45
I'm looking forward to seeing Mahboob in this contest as I've had him in my tracker ever since his impressive win on debut.
Mahboob was gelded in September of last year, the four-year-old then made his first outing at Lingfield In December which saw him win in a pretty impressive fashion. He beat home Verbier that day from the Ralph Beckett yard. Verbier looks decent and somewhat boosted the form when finishing fourth in a Listed on her next start, finishing just over two lengths behind the winner Tyrrhenian Sea, now rated 108.
Mahboob then had a break of 113 days but returned to track in style to make it two from two. He was sent off a short-priced favorite that day and probably didn't run as a 1/3 shot should at times. He ran very green and didn't handle the Lingfield bend too well. One Jim Crowley got him on the straight and gave him a few reminders the penny dropped and he scooted clear to win comfortably in the end.
An opening mark of 91 looks more than workable and if able to settle better, he should take all the beating.

Backing a favourite to win in a race like this is always dodgy and juntos ganamos is unbeaten in his last 7 completed races, he has fell a couple of times in between these race which raises alarm bells slightly and unseated his jockey once.
He did beat a lot of these here in a grade 3 chase in march.
Also he hasn’t run anywhere near this distance 2 mile 5 the furthest he’s been while this is a marathon 3 mile 6 .
You two glass came 2nd in a big race at pau in February over 3 mile 2 on todays ground beat just under a length giving the winner 11 pounds, today they run off level weights.
The winner that day IN LOVE runs today and is 33-1 so I’ll have have a quid ew for interest….
