It was nice to bounce back to winning ways yesterday, with Passenger winning at advised odds of 9/4.
Botanical was announced as a non-runner which left us with only the sole selection. I was impressed with Passenger's performance, he tracked the leaders from off the pace and pounced within the final couple of furlongs to win with something in hand.
A usual busy Saturday of racing awaits us and I've my eye on a couple of horses who hopefully do the business for us.
Kotari 3/1 – Ascot 13:30
Kotari may be slightly on the short side of things in terms of price, given that 14 runners go to post for this competitive opener at Ascot, but I'm willing to roll the dice with him as he is surely a worthy favourite on paper.
It took a while, but Kotari has finally got his act together under Gary Moore's guidance. He comes here in search of a hat-trick in the 1m4f handicap opener at Ascot under jockey Jason Watson.
He was campaigned over hurdles through the winter of last year but he never took well to the obstacles and was quickly reverted to the flat. A return to the flat has seen Kotari improve massively, most notably when landing a 1m2f handicap at Windsor off a mark of 73 on good ground last month.
Kotari is versatile ground-wise as he followed up the Windsor victory with a 10-length demolition job on heavy ground at Salisbury. The thing that makes his most recent performance that little more impressive, besides the testing ground conditions, was the fact he carried a 4lb penalty that day. He has been raised a further 5lb but if he shows up here in similar form, he could take all the beating in this contest.
Zain Nights 9/2 – Haydock 13:35
I like the look of Zain Nights in this contest. Still only a five-year-old, Zain Nights is a hurdler on the up. My selection won on his last outing at Cheltenham over 3m. He jumped beautifully that day and showed a great attitude two from home to knuckle down and get the job done. I thought he hit the line hard that day, suggesting he had a fair bit up his sleeve.
Zain Nights remains an unexposed horse over this trip. Although he was hit with a 6lb rise for his recent success, I don't think it will be enough to stop Lucy Wadham's youngster from being competitive in this race.
At the prices, Judical Law could be a danger with ground conditions in his favour while Harbour Lake meets my selection again on 4 lb better terms.

My getting mixed ip Cairnzy or is that same Lark In The Morning in 3.15 Haydock you tipped and ended up NR? He’s 9/4
Meant ask obviously and if so ..do you fancy it?
Hi Recoba,
No, you are correct, I did tip Lark In The Mornin recently but he was a non-runner on the day.
If he shows up, he wins that race and probably wins it quite easily but It’s not a race I wanted to get involved in. He has drifted slightly from 2s to 5/2 as I was looking at it last night myself before I posted.
Good luck if you decide on laying the bet.
Thanks

Great generation won at lingfield.
As I said earlier ran behind ramatouelle and romantic style at deauville.
This win, though a close run thung boosts that form line ahead of tomorrow’s french 1000 Guinness.
Romantic style is a best price 100-30 tomorrow.
Drawback is stall 14 but I’ll still have a wager.
Rose bloom had a blowout recently in a group 3 and should be match fit and has stall 1 which is worth a couple of pound in itself
2-50 longchamp ??
Romantic style 100-30 win
Rose bloom 16-1 ew 5 places @hills.
Had to delete my original comment, due to the duplicate comment glitch repeating my post under another user. I’ll need to send this error to the guys above to see if they can fix it as its a nightmare!
Anyway! Nice to lands a 21/1 double today, makes a change from the usual blood bath Saturdays..
