IT'S a tough set of fixtures today and as Mr F eluded to the Scottish Championship looks extremely difficult. The fact only one of the 10 teams are odds against shows that.
I've had a good look and I'm prepared to give Dundee United a final chance to redeem themselves at home to Dunfermline.
Dundee United vs Dunfermline (3pm)
It's been a hectic January transfer window for these two sides but for differing reasons.
Dundee United have made a number of terrific signings, most notably Morgaro Gomis who is right at home here having joined for a third time, and one of St Mirren's best players in Cammy Smith who is great coup for Robbie Neilson's side.
The Pars are under new management after the sacking this week of Allan Johnston and he's been replaced by Stevie Crawford, someone who knows the club really well.
Defensively Dunfermline leak too many goals away from home with 4 of their last 6 seeing 2 goals conceded and those were at the leagues poor sides.
Both sides have been hampered by draws recently with United drawing 3 of their last 5 and Dunfermline 3 of their last 4 so we should expect a tight game here.
United's home form has been extremely disappointing this season having only win 4 of their 10 league games at Tannadice and they need to rectify they immediately if they at win this league.
Its been a very productive transfer window with a number of players leaving who were surplus to requirements and also the signings of Gomis and Smith bring extra quality to the squad.
United are a big 11-8 to win this today which I think is to big to ignore. There's no doubt they have one of the best squads in the league and I fancy them today to start showing that today and keep pace with Ross County and Ayr above them.
Recommended Bets
- Dundee United to win
- 11/8 (BetVictor)
- Dundee United over 1.5 team goals
- 13/10 ( Coral)
Will also been on the usual English League One and Two goal in the first half and over 1.5 match goals. Been extremely unlucky the last two weeks, falling just one goal short for two 20-1 winners.
- League One – goal in the first half of all games 55-1
- League One all match over 1.5 goals 20-1
- League Two – goal in the first half of all games 66-1
- League Two all match over 1.5 goals 28-1
I personally could not agree more with MrFs write up. Its a hard lot of games today.
I would have been on Dundee BTTS but considering so far this season Dundee United have averaged 1.5 Points Per Game at home while Dunfermline Athletic average 1.5 away. So for me its a BTTS Draw.
Key is how Dunfermline react to new manager – teams usually get a lift.
The funny thing is Dunfermline haven’t been playing that bad, they are unbeaten in 4 and hammered rivals Falkirk 4-2 so it’s not like they have been struggling – for me there is no lift for them to gain out of Crawford coming in
