IT'S a quiet day today and you know its quiet when St Johnstone vs St Mirren is the biggest match on the card . I'll be in Perth for the game and its a match both sides desperately need to win.

St Johnstone are on a horrible run with a solitary point to show from their last 8 league games, while the Paisley Saints are rooted to the bottom of the league a know a win would see them leapfrog fellow relegation candidates Dundee.

I think we'll get back to winning ways tonight but couldn't possibly back us, instead its the corner  market that I like the look  of.

St Johnstone vs St Mirren (KO 7.45pm)

A few months ago we would have been a banker to beat St Mirren tonight but a tough run of games and some woeful performances has seen Tommy Wrights men plummet to 9th, however a win tonight takes them above Livi and Motherwell and to within 4 points of Hibs.

Its a must win on two fronts, to keep their top 6 hopes alive and to stop the rot in what has been a terrible few months. They've already beaten St Mirren twice this season and Perth isn't a happy hunting ground for the visitors having only won 6 of their last 30 visits

St Mirren had shown sign of improvement with creditable draws away at Aberdeen and Hearts then a win against Livi only to undo that by losing at home to Killie

I'm expecting a much improved performance tonight from St Johnstone and one thing they certainly haven't lacked recently is corners. 11 team corners against Hibs, and 12 against Aberdeen in our last two home games and we ae averaging 6-7 corners a match.

St Mirren are pulling in 4-5 corners a game and given the importance of this match to both sides I don't see either side sitting back. We play with plenty of width and I'd be surprised if we didn't register at least 7 corners tonight.

Recommended Bet:

  • Over 9.5 corners
  • 5/6 (Bet365) (NAP)
