I WAS quite happy to start the new golfing year in profit as our three selections last week all finished in the top 10 and Marc Leishman finished 4th for an each way payout.
A stake of 9pts returned 13.88 so I am happy to profit 4.88 points without threatening the winner's circle. Hopefully we can profit again this week.
The Sony Open stays in Hawaii at the Par 70 Waialae Country Club which is just over 7,000 yards.
Only two par 5’s on the course but scores are expected, weather permitting, to be low. Four rounds of around 66 will not be far away at 16 under.
Accuracy, scrambling and a hot putter are the main requirements this week .
Our three for this week are as follows
Charles Howell III
First up is CHARLES HOWELL III. He won the RSM Classic last October and finished a steady 14th in the seller field last week.
Chuckie Three Sticks has the game for a strong show this week, good in GIR and accurate iron player.
Cameron Smith
Second selection is CAMERON SMITH, the young Australian showed excellent form towards the end of 2018. He has shown steady improvement over this course in the last three years and as this course is set up nicely for him I expect him to go well.
Patton Kizzire
Third up is one player I like and was a selection last week when finishing Tied 8th. PATTON KIZZIRE had a closing round of 5 under par 68 last Sunday to secure the 8th place.
He has been playing consistently well when winning the QBE shootout and is the defending champion here this week and will go close.
