IT was a brilliant day for Europe and my tips as the Ryder Cup nears a conclusion.
Paul McGinley's men go into Sunday's singles leading 10-6 and much of that is down to Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson.
The English/Swedish pair won me two Super Singles on Friday and another on Saturday morning. My Saturday NB also trapped thanks to America's star kids Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed.
Before the foursomes pairing were revealed I advised taking Rose again but didn't expect him to be paired with Martin Kaymer and of course they ran in the Spieth/Reed juggernaut and in the end a vital half was a great result.
I missed the start of the foursomes but inplay predicted wins for Dubuisson/McDowell and McIlroy/Garcia and they delivered at just under evens.
I tipped Europe at the start of the tournament and they are no bigger than 1-6 with Coral to win the match and 1-16 at bet365.
Europe need just four singles win to retain the trophy and 4.5pts to win the Ryder Cup and I expect them to do both.
Much has been said about how Europe trailed 10-6 at Medinah before making a miraculous comeback but this feels much different with several of the US stars looking out of form and one or two not as interested as the US stars.
The singles draw has thrown up some fascinating pairings with both captains putting out most of their cup stars early on.
Spieth, Reid and Fowler are out against McDowell, Stenson and McIlroy respectively and all of those ties could come down to who holes the most putts.
The fourth one is the first I'm interested in with unbeaten Rose up against Hunter Mahan who hasn't justified his wildcard selection. Back Rose at 4-5 with Betfred.
Fifth up it's Scot Stephen Gallacher against Phil Mickelson and both will be fresh after being dropped on Saturday. It's tough to call but I've a feeling Gallacher will rise to the challenge and with some of the pressure off contribute a point to the cause. He is the underdog at 15-8 with Ladbrokes.
Steady Eddie Martin Kaymer should beat big-hitting Bubba Watson at 23-20 with Betfred but Matt Kuchar, 11-10 at Paddy Power, may get the better off Thomas Bjorn.
Sergio Garcia v Jim Furyk is another cracker and one I wouldn't attempt to call but then comes Europe's talisman and probably the banker bet of the singles. Ian Poulter will be thrilled to be facing Webb Simpson, the American who hasn't been seen since doffing his tee shot at the first in the first match on Friday morning. Simpson's confidence must be shot to bits so back Poulter at 10-11 at Ladbrokes.
Europe may have to sewn up the time it comes down to the last three matches and that sometimes affects the results. Wildcard Jamie Donaldson has been brilliant with Lee Westwood but could struggle on his own against the mighty Keegan Bradley
Lee Westwood v Jimmy Walker is another that's to close to call with Walker generally impressing and putting well.
And that leaves us with the quiet Frenchman Victor Dubuisson who has been a revelation playing with McDowell. The Irishman says he will be “Europe's big superstar” and I expect him to show his potential by seeing off Zach Johnson.

Mr F I am going to place a tenner bet on a draw in every singles match as PP are offering 5/1 on each match. Only need 2 up to return the stake and any more than 2 is a bonus. Was thinking it could be tight at the start with first few matches and if Europe do win early doors then the final matches might be happy with a draw. What are your thoughts?
Colin W, might be a couple of draws out of 12 but can’t see there being more than 2 or 3.
Cheers Mr F. I am going to give it a bash and sit back and enjoy the last day. Should be great viewing.
Stenson, Poulter, Rose, Kaymer and Dubission for me. Perm 4 from 5 or back all dnb. Should be a good days golf.
cobramint, check the news on Stenson’s back injury. He should be OK but it was bad enough to be left out the afternoon matches.
Thanks Mr F. Really enjoying this comp and all the better with your tips coming in!
Great tipping Mr fix, backed both your tips Friday and this morning so will do the same here. Also made a profit on the footie today, chucked in my team cardiff amongst your few and they did not disappoint. Top stuff
Cheers for heads up Mrf.
Stenson is your best bet tomorrow even know Reed hasn’t lost a game yet it has been his partner Speith that has done all the work he will be found out tomorrow from
A class player like Stenson 5&4 or 4&3
Darren, as I’ve said my only doubt is Stenson’s injury. He missed the afternoon session with a sore back so hopefully we’ll get an update before he goes out.
Looks a pretty solid Trixie that will be on it.
my treble is similar to yours except Speith for Poulter. Poulter played awful the first 14 holes until he chipped in from off the green. Good luck all.
The fans singing as g.mac walks onto the 1st t. Uv gt Big Mac we’ve gt g.mac. Brilliant
Rose has a match on his hands here, maybe to much golf looks like he’s struggling
Darren, in singles if the other guy plays better there’s nothing you can do. Look at McIlroy-Fowler for example. Fowler can’t do anything about the way Rory has started.
Rose getting slowly dismantled from mahan here
Looking good for Europe. Rory showing why he is the best player in the world. Patrick Reed looks a player
What does ‘push’ mean on the bet slip mrf?
I backed your treble
Thanks :c)
Ant1 know who the top points scorer was
You were right Mr F I ended up with 3 draws out of 12 which returned a profit at odds of roughly 4/7 overall. Not bad but could have been better if Stenson and Furyk had holed their putts at the last. Still cant complain with a profit.
Colin W, any profit is fine. I did OK with my singles picks today and overall it was pretty good and I was on Europe from the very start. Was surprised to see Steve Palmer, who is a really good golf tipster, back USA at 11-1 today in the Racing Post. I just couldn’t see any way they’d make that sort of comeback.
Ellis
End of day leader at day 1,2,3 posted as 5/2 but actually nailed 7/2 from ladbrookes. I took them for a cool 4 figures, not bad for a guy that’s seen half a tournament. As stated the most one sided Ryder cup for years.
Bankside….
I still don’t get how on paper it was the most one sided ryder cup in years
At the end of the day the foursomes, and the foursomes alone lost them the ryder cup
Ellis
Agreed, foursomes lost them it, but these are the rules and the yanks just don’t get it. 8 out of the last ten victories proves they don’t have the bond that Europe has. Very little preparation on foursomes by the yanks where McGinley has been paring off and playing rounds before tour events for the last 18 months.
