RUMOUR has it that more pints than putts are being sunk in Northern Europe on Mr Fixit's “Golf Tour” but that hasn't stopped his good friend Ace Venturer from posting his tips ahead of the BMW PGA Championship.

Let's hope he's been inspired by the play of his fellow golfers on tour. Ace says “Wentworth is again the host for the prestigious BMW PGA Championship with some of the top names in entertainment, sport and television taking part playing with the cream of the European Tour.”

“I don’t like these pro-am set ups as you can never tell how the players react when they are playing with amateur partners.”

“The rain and thunderstorms seemed to have an effect on Rafa Cabrera Bello at the Irish Open. He double bogeyed on his 53rd hole and then after a delay had a bogey at the 54th. A disappointment after a very solid third round up to then but he seems to be back to the form he was showing earlier in the season. He has seven top twenties from eleven starts, including two T2 and a third. I think Rafa has the game to win here this week.”

“I also think Andy Sullivan has a good chance. He’s been steady with five top twenties including a T2 from eight outings. The Englishman has not played a lot but his game is good and expect him to go close this weekend.”

Cabrera Bello’s also available at 40/1 e/w at skybet to be 1st round leader which looks a bit overpriced, as he’s often a fast starter. Been 1st round leader 5 times over the past couple of seasons and within a few shots of the lead another dozen or so times.

Ace, if Cabrero Bello could putt he would have finished a lot higher in the Irish Open.
We followed him for most of his three ball on Thursday, there’s no denying his ability to hit greens.

Its also worth noting Cabrero Bello double bogeyed the 53rd hole because of an official who blared his cart horn during a shot as this is standard procedure when play is suspended. He just got unlucky with his timing.

the notorious, I know how it feels when the putting stick isn’t working, ask Mrfixit. He’s lying T6 at the moment but is five behind Masters winner Danny Willet and YE Yang but hopefully can pull it back.
