Olympics tennis is reaching its crescendo over the coming days, with just four men remaining in the singles competition. Carlos Alcaraz and Felix Auger-Aliassime clash in one semi-final, while Novak Djokovic will meet Lorenzo Musetti in the other. We’ve analysed the latest odds from bookmaker Betfred and come up with the best bets to make this Friday.
Best Tennis Tips and Predictions Today
For those looking to make a bet on tennis today, here are the three wagers we suggest this Friday:
Alcaraz to Beat Auger-Aliassime 2-0 @ 2/5
Few expected Auger-Aliassime to make it this far at the Olympics, and we expect his journey in Paris will end abruptly on Friday afternoon. The Canadian is 3-3 against Alcaraz in the pair’s head-to-head, however, there’s an alarming trend.
All three of Auger-Aliassime’s wins over Alcaraz came in 2021-2022. Since then, the Spaniard’s game has improved markedly–and it shows, with the last three clashes between the pair being one-sided results to Alcaraz. Most recently, the 21-year-old thrashed Auger-Aliassime 6-3, 6-3, 6-1 at the French Open in June 2024.
We expect a similar storyline will unfold in this match. Alcaraz showed against Tommy Paul that his doubles schedule hasn’t worn him out too much. Expect a strong showing as the Spaniard guarantees himself a medal.
Djokovic vs Musetti to Be Two Sets @ 8/15
We also think the second men’s semi-final at the Olympics will be one-sided. Djokovic and Musetti have played three times this year, with the 24-time Grand Slam champion winning all three encounters. Two of these were in the last two months, with wins for Djokovic over Musetti at both the French Open and Wimbledon.
Musetti gave Djokovic a good run in Paris this year, pushing him to five sets. However, with Djokovic potentially nursing a knee injury, we expect he will play the ultra-aggressive brand of tennis that he’s increasingly mastered over recent years, and win in two sets.
Betting on this to be two sets is a great wager, because it also allows for the possibility of Djokovic fronting up to play despite being compromised with his knee. He said after yesterday’s match that he’d be taking the court regardless of what the doctors say–if he’s below his usual level, there’s an outside chance Musetti wins this in two instead.
