THE long wait is finally over and Euro 2024 gets underway tonight as Scotland bid to pull off one of the tournament's greatest shocks against hosts Germany in Munich.
Steve Clarke's boys managed to surprise Spain in a brilliant qualifying campaign as they booked their place at the finals with two games to spare.
But they've only claimed a single victory in their nine matches since then so it's easy to see why a German side unbeaten in 2024 are Bet365's 1/4 hot favourites tonight.
The hosts were in disarray last year but the decision to bin Hansi Flick and replace him with Julian Nagelsmann seems to have revitalised the team.
The Germans have the potential to go far on home soil this summer but won't take a victory for granted tonight having seen so many big guns come a cropper in their opening game at a major finals.

Germany vs Scotland Top Betting Tips
The atmosphere at the Allianz Arena will be brilliant and I'd imagine Scotland will steam into a few challenges to let the Germans know they won't be able to play at their own pace.
That makes cards a good option for punters, especially with referees told to clamp down on dissent at Euro 2024. Over 3.5 match cards looks terrific value at evens and the odds are even better for individual players.
Celtic's Anthony Ralston likes a tackle and he'll be up against wonderkid Florian Wirtz so he looks well worth a punt at 15/4 to go into the book.
Kieran Tierney is another who offers total commitment and he's a whopping 6/1 to be carded.
The Scots have looked vulnerable in defence of late, with Grant Hanley particularly rusty having been starved of game time at Norwich. If he plays the speedy German forwards could get some joy so a win for the hosts combined with over 2.5 goals looks good at 10/11.
I don't think Clarke will just park the bus so the Scots could ask some questions of Nagelsmann's defence. John McGinn usually plays much further up the field for Scotland than he does for Aston Villa so he looks good value at 6/5 for a shot on target.
Flamengo vs Gremio Top Tips
If the tasty clash in Munich isn't enough to sate your appetite for football, there's a few games in Brazil kicking off late at night.
With leaders Botafogo not in action, Flamengo have the chance to go top if they win their game in hand to Gremio.
Although Gremio sit a lowly 13th at the moment it's something of a false position given they have played two or three games fewer than most of the other sides.
But they're still 21/4 rank outsiders away to a Flamengo side who thrashed Vasco 6-1 away from home in their last outing to make it four wins in a row in all competitions.
Flamengo have scored 15 times during that run so backing them to win in a bet builder with over 2.5 goals looks the best shout at 13/10.
Tite's side also look good value to be winning at half-time and full-time, which also pays 13/10. That bet has landed in their last four matches.
