Fridays top tips 2

The EFL gets back underway tonight and Luton Town will be looking to lay down a marker in their League One opener with AFC Wimbledon.

It has been a disastrous few years for the Hatters, with the club suffering back-to-back relegations after the high of reaching the Premier League promised land.

They now face an AFC Wimbledon side who have their tails up after being promoted from League Two so it will be fascinating to see if Luton can halt their slide.

Luton Town vs AFC Wimbledon top betting tips

With two leagues separating these sides last season, BoyleSports make Luton Town their 4/9 hot favourites, with AFC Wimbledon 5/1 outsiders and the draw paying 16/5.

Although the Hatters ended up being relegated, they actually finished last season in good form, losing just one of their final 10 games. They won three of their last four and boss Matt Bloomfield will be confident of getting them back on the up again.

Home advantage should give them the edge tonight and backing Luton to be winning at half-time and full-time boosts the odds to 13/10.

The pitch is tight at Kenilworth Road and you often see plenty of corners, with Town winning 18 in their final home game of last term, albeit helped by an early red card for Coventry.

So I fancy over 10 corners at evens with Bet365 while the same firm price over five first-half corners at 6/4.

Arbroath vs Ayr United

The new SPFL season also kicks off tonight with a Championship clash between Arbroath and Ayr United at Gayfield.

The Honest Men will be looking to mount another promotion push after coming up short in the play-offs last term.

Scott Brown's side impressed in the League Cup groups and qualified for the last 16 as one of the three best runners-up.

Arbroath have come up from League One and home form will be key to them avoiding a quick return to the third tier. They held Premiership St Mirren to a draw in the League Cup but I fancy Ayr to come out on top tonight.

BoyleSports make them 5/6 favourites but you can boost the odds to 11/8 by adding on over 1.5 goals.

Ayr striker George Oakley netted five times in the League Cup group stage so he looks worth a punt at 7/5 with Bet365 for another goal tonight.

Mechelen vs Club Brugge

Club Brugge started the Belgian season with a big win over title rivals Genk last week and will be looking to follow it up with another three points on the road at Mechelen tonight.

Mechelen finished eighth last term and picked up a point in their opener with promoted Zulte Waregem. It would be a surprise if they took anything off Brugge though and BoyleSports make them 3/1 outsiders tonight.

Club Brugge are just 8/13 for another win but adding on over 1.5 goals boost the odds to a decent 10/11 with BoyleSports.

There's more value in the player markets and Brugge stalwart Hans Vanaken looks a bit overpriced at 13/5 with Bet365 for anytime scorer.
