Football Bet of the Day 23rd august

Friday's Football Bet of the Day sees me delve into the swish second tier, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

⚽️ Neuchatel Xamax vs FC Aarau

?? Challenge League

⏰ Friday 12 December, 19:15

Two clubs separated by a solitary point in the Swiss Challenge League table meet at the Stade de la Maladière on Friday night as fifth-placed Neuchâtel Xamax entertains third-placed Aarau in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.

Ulrich Forte’s hosts are the third-highest scorers in the Swiss Challenge League, slamming in 29 goals across their opening 17 matches, with a league-high 17 (59%) of them coming on home soil.

Xamax have found the back of the net in all bar three of their league outings – nothing on multiple occasions in 10 (59%) of them, including in 6/8 (75%) in front of their supporters – and will be confident of adding to their goal tally against an Aarau backline that has registered a solitary shutout on their travels this season.

Brunello Iacopetta’s visitors have scored 27 goals across their opening 17 contests in the Swiss second tier, with a league-high 19 (70%) of them coming on their travels.

The Eagles have found the back of the net in all eight of their league outings on the road – notching on multiple occasions in five (63%) of them – and will look to trouble a Xamax defence that has registered a solitary shutout in the league this season, conceding 33 goals.

Bet of the Day

Neuchǎtel Xamax’s opening 17 Challenge League fixtures have averaged an eye-catching 3.65 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals paying out in an impressive 13 (76%) of them.

Those numbers rise even further when playing on home soil, with their opening eight league outings in front of their supporters averaging a staggering 4.38 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals landing in seven (88%) of them – and given the same has landed in 5/8 (63%) of Aarau’s road trips this season – I’m happy to have a play on there to be a minimum of three strikes, with both of these high-scoring sides netting.

  • Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals
  • Pays 4/5 (Bet365)

The Schaffhausen v Nyonnais appeals to me.

2 bottom clubs separated by a point

The home team in 7 homes have scored (against better opposition) 8 and conceded 14

The away team from 8 games has scored 11 and shipped 18.

They’ll both want 3pts from this game ?
