Following on from Saturday’s surprise lack of goals in Germany, Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Italian Serie A, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Bologna will look to continue their push towards European qualification as they travel to the Stadio Via del Mare on Sunday evening to take on relegation-threatened Lecce in a fixture that I’m keen to attack the low goal-line.
After scoring just four goals across their opening 11 Serie A contests this season, Marco Giampaolo hosts have scored 14 goals across their next 12 matches.
The Giallorossi have made the net bulge in nine of their last 12 Serie A matches – as well as in seven of their past 10 on home soil – and will look to continue their recent improvement in front of goal against a Bologna backline that has recorded just two shutouts on their travels this campaign, shipping multiple goals in 7/11 (64%) of them.
Vincenzo Italiano’s visitors have scored 35 goals across their opening 22 Serie A contests this season, with 18 (51%) of them coming on their travels.
The Rossoblu have failed to score in just three of their Serie A fixtures, notching on multiple occasions in 13 of their last 19 – as well as in eight of their previous 10 on their travels – and will be confident of breaching a Lecce defence whose five clean sheets in Serie A this campaign have all come against bottom-half sides.

After seeing just 27 goals across their opening 13 Serie A fixtures this season, Lecce’s next 10 have averaged 3.20 goals per game, with nine (90%) of them producing at least two goals, with each of their past four and seven of their last nine producing three or more goals.
Bologna’s opening 11 Serie A contests on the road this season have averaged a league-high 3.27 goals per game, with all 11 (100%) of them featuring at least two goals, with eight (73%) of them producing three or more goals.
Therefore, I’m happy to back the Over 2.25 Asian goal line. This would mean if there are exactly two goals scored, we will lose just half of our stake, whilst three or more strikes will reward a full payout.
