Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me take a trip to the Korean top flight, and I’ve highlighted one side in particular that appeals to me for goals.
⚽️ FC Seoul vs Daejeon Hana Citizen
🇰🇷 K League 1
⏰ Wednesday 10 July, 11:30
Seoul will look to make it three successive home wins for the first time this season as they welcome away-day strugglers Daejeon Hana Citizen to the Seoul World Cup Stadium tomorrow morning in a fixture that I’m keen to back the hosts to strike at least twice.
Despite coming back from two goals down, FC Seoul saw their four-match unbeaten run come to an end last time out, as they conceded in the 89th minute to lose 3-2 at Jeju.
Prior to that defeat, Kim Gi-dong’s men had also come from two down to draw 2-2 away at reigning champions Ulsan before going on a three-match winning run, defeating both Suwon and Gangwon at home and then thrashing Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors away from home.
Over the last five games, Seoul have banged in 14 goals – scoring on multiple occasions in each of them – highlighting their recent improvement in front of goal.
Daejeon Hana Citizen prevented going to the foot of the K League 1 table last time out, as they came from two goals down to rescue a point at home to the only side below them in the table, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.
Whilst that’s now just one loss from their last four at home (W2-D1-L1), Hwang Sun-hong’s men have struggled on their travels all season, as they remain winless after 10 matches (W0-D4-L6), conceding a league-high 19 goals, with 12 (63%) of them coming across their previous five road trips.
Bet of the Day
Kim Gi-dong’s hosts are the third-highest scorers in the Korean top-flight, having scored 35 goals across their opening 21 League 1 fixtures this term, with 18 (51%) of them coming on home soil.
Only reigning champions Ulsan have prevented Seoul from scoring in front of their supporters across their last nine league outings – with the capital club notching on multiple occasions in six (67%) of them – and I’m backing them to bag a double for the sixth consecutive league match against a DHFC defence that has kept just one clean sheet on their travels this season, shipping multiple goals in six (60%) of them, including in four of their previous five.
- FC Seoul to Score Over 1.5 Goals
- Pays 17/20 (William Hill)
